No, a Bronze should not give advice

I keep hearing this comparison to sports where people who don't excel at football can still give advice, and that I agree. A person who isn't physically fit can still give good advice in football.

But League isn't a very "athletic" or mechanically demanding game, and I mean this for low ranks. A Bronze player who actually knows his shit will get out of Bronze regardless of mechanics. A Silver will get out of Silver if he doesn't have mechanics.

If I hear another dumbass Bronze telling me to build all AD on a bruiser that's not even fed, I will report him to Riot so they can deport his bum ass to Dota 2

You make no sense at all. I'm sorry. Why is it that someone who is not physically fit is capable of giving advice on strategy, where someone who is not mechanically fit is not? I say this because I think you're using the term "Bronze" loosely rather than referring to a player in that specific bracket. From the connotation of your post you seem to be relaying that someone who you felt was lower skill level than you was offering advice.

Not necessarily, they may have a particularly poor internet connection, or their mechanics may be very bad. Or maybe they just don't play ranked. Last time I checked I was ranked silver, but when I go into my games and check my team / enemy team I'm being matched with high gold / plat.

I think the main mistake here is looking at the person's bracket as the worth of their advice. If a bronze player tells you "Building armor might be a good idea" when you're up against a full AD comp, just because they're in bronze doesn't mean it's bad advice.

Also think, If you're in game with them.... you're roughly at the same skill level as them. That's how match making works.

When people try to invalidate a person's opinion based on rank, it reflects very poorly on their character.

A friend of mine is a Gold ADC main and didn't know Vayne does true damage.

Your argument is invalid.

Ranked is pretty trash, my Normal games are far more competitive.

In Normals my teams manage to communicate, sometimes even coordinate great plays, we don't get too discouraged until League of Snowball kicks in and makes winning actually impossible.

In Ranked my teams have a wild mix of player skill and the ones that aren't trolls tend to be Prima Donnas that will rage and fly off the handle at nothing and quit 2 minutes into the game, where everything is over at first blood as the trolling and AFKing begins.

Ranked is the most abysmal experience this season and I can't even bring myself to complete my Prelims because that Rank means nothing when the systems is "functioning" like it is currently

A bronze can be much better at a specific champion he/she mains. So yeah, if you're new at the champion, let the bronze person give you advice if they are experienced at it.

Probably a better comparison than sports would be an intellectual debate on something like theology or politics. Yes, someone who has a PhD in those fields is more likely to have a very well thought out opinion but that doesn't mean that someone who doesn't even have a college degree can't make a valid point.

A point is either valid or invalid regardless of how well educated a person is. It could very well be a diamond player telling you to build AD on a bruiser, does that make the point any less valid? Obviously not. Yes diamond people usually have better insights into the game than bronze but it is a logical fallacy that a bronze player can never have a decent point.

"You are bronze, therefore your advice is wrong" is not the same as "your advice is wrong, therefore you are bronze."

I agree. I only take criticism from people at least my rank seriously. Everyone else can f*ck right off.

It's also funny how it's always low elo players trying to lecture you. I actually ask higher ranked players for advice, because they usually don't say anything. It's always low elos "teaching" you the game.

I was Bronze because of bad mechanics and bad judgement. I got game knowledge down though.

I have finally gotten me out of Bronze, but only because I got better with Soraka's Mechanics.

This doesn't change anything on the a I give or gave though.

What about from an unranked player? Any better?

Climbing any Division needs quite some Games played. And some of us dont have the time / are too lazy (thats me) / play normals because they want to learn new stuff(me too). When seeing what stupid mistakes people make in bronze i can totally understand, what you mean(not adapting items builds is just one thing of many), But even in bronze there are quite decent players. I have started playing league in preseason 3 and by now I can say, that i have a really solid game knowledge(the only thing I really lack is the correct decision making to close out games). Don't immediately judge people by their elo: judge them by their build and in game behavior.

A persons rank shouldnt dictate whether or not their advice has merit. Instead of whining about how someone, who is most likely close to your skill level. Either take the advice or leave it.

If you don't like what they're saying then why not choose to just ignore it?
