WTF is up with Ranked Placements

Hey guys its a brand new ranked season! Aah, fresh starts. I just finished my last placement game and was really looking forward to a great start to the season. I ended my placements 7-3 and had an overall kd of 60-53 :/ I know its not amazing but I was hoping for at least Bronze 1 or something. However after finishing my final game I got placed in BRONZE 5... why? how? what did i do to deserve this? 7-3?? that deserves more than bronze 5. can anyone explain this to me please. im about to cry Thanks

ha, me too. I got 7-3 and place in bronze 5 just today.

Placements are literally a waste of time. A complete and utter 100% waste of 10 games. I was on the verge of asking Riot to simply bypass my placement matches and put me straight into Bronze V since I KNOW that's where I'm ending up even if I go 10-0, but didn't bother because I realised Riot don't give a shit.

Season 5 was bad enough. Ended the previous season in Silver IV, won either 6/10 or 7/10 games (can't remember now), got dumped into Bronze IV. This season is even worse. It's basically a GUARANTEE that EVERYONE will lose at least one division COMPLETELY IRRESPECTIVE of how they actually perform. Placements are SUPPOSED to work out where you should be placed based on your performance, modified by where you ended the last season. Instead, they're just determining exactly how far you should be kicked back and how much of your efforts to climb last season should be wasted.

Riot dun fucked up. But what else is new?

Look through the divisions in your tier. You will see a gamut of records in each division. There will be a mix of every record, from 0-10 to 10-0. Most divisions will be filled with records from 2-8 to 8-2. The shell shock of being reduced so much was real, at first. Not one of the ~200 players in my tier group played past provisionals until the next day. That might have been an update thing, but half the players have not played another game still.

Silver 4, went 7-3 and got bronze 4, got into a series real quick and won 2 for promotion and it bumped me to bronze 2. The climb is not as bad as it could be and at this rate I should be back to silver or gold in maybe 2-3 weeks if I put my head down and grind it out like a boss.
