I would like to know how riot does their rankings. To start last season I went 7-3 in placements and got in silv III after finishing the preseason in gold. This season I went 8-2 and get placed in silv 4? I went: 4-0 Zyra 10-5-11 kda 3-1 Swain 8-7-12 kda 1-1 Zac 6-5-13 kda

Carried if not co-carried in all of my games... Also I was in a series to plat last season. Any input would be appreciated

That is not an official Riot post so it means nothing. A class action lawsuit on the grounds of manipulating the player base to profit would force them to publish their formula. Its surpising that they dont just let everyone know what it is. Whats the big secret?

Riot is of the opinion that releasing the information to the public would allow the system workings to be more easily abused. I agree, I certainly would abuse any new information I was given about how the MMR systems work, I already abuse the systems failing to my own personal gain in game. Riot's intention is to keep that in check by keeping the inner functions and exact calculations secret from the public.

Sure, my post is not a Riot post, but it is a post from a 5 year player who Ranks in Diamond and has been as high as Master Tier. I dedicate a lot of time to assisting the community and that post was made using all my knowledge along with some gleaned from Rioters to help the community in a time of suffering. You may think it means nothing, and that's fine. To each his own. My hope is that many players can read it, understand the information contained and how it pertains to them, and be encouraged that their plight is understood and that with this new knowledge they can get back down to business as usual.

Its not that i dont appreciate the work and time you have put in. Please dont take my statement the wrong way.

Think of it like this...

A wide receiver bobbles a catch while going out of bounds in the end zone. The Refs rule it a touchdown and it stands. The fan base is furious because on the replay the receiver never had possession. The Refs give no explaination and the NFL has never published what constitutes a catch. Fan base then screams conspiracy.

Riot in the interest of eSports should in fact publish the system that everyone is using. If you win your division in the NFL you go to the playoffs. Its published and its the rule.

Riot needs to mature as a company if they want to continue expanding the eSports arena. Publish the structure. Yes you will have players akin to the Patriots who look for every little advantage to climb the ladder. After a LoL season ends review the rules and adjust in the preseason.

They are not inventing the wheel. Just because this is a digital format does not mean they should not be held to competitive standards.

You know, I actually agree wholeheartedly with this entire sentiment and I think you really hit the nail on the head when it comes to Riot. I've said the same type of thing for years on end. Maybe someday if enough of us all same the same thing Riot will learn they need to start acting right. We can certainly hope.
