So I started playing Fiora a few weeks ago. I've been playing league since Jhin came out so about 8 months. I played a lot of Trundle because he is a monster. Since I've started playing her, I feel like I haven't improved at her at all. I struggle a lot with her and have not had many games where I destroyed my lane. In teamfights I feel like if I get CCed I am dead. Have not played her in rank because I cannot even do well in norms with her so there is no point. I need some advise. How do I improve with her? I want to know specifically how I can get better with her in the laning phase. As in her style of play and how I should trade with her and also how to fight in teamfights. I feel like I cant be front line with her but at the same time I cannot be back line. Please advise ohh great Fiora mains!!

TL:DR..

How do I trade in lane with her. I feel like like I get out traded alot. How do I approach teamfghts?

Aim for vitals with Q. Parry if they try to retaliate. Use the speed buff from hitting vitals to back off so they can't retaliate. Trade won.

That's the very very basic. Any Fiora player should be able to do that one and do somewhat acceptably in lane. You can add a little to it, like using her E to get a little more damage off. If you think you can get two autos in, use E after landing. If you think you can only get one, E hit a minion then Q + auto.

Add on more. If you successfully parried or dodged a significant part of the enemy retaliation combo, add some more auto attacks to further the amount you won the trade by.

Always keep in mind that she is relatively squishy with mediocre at best sustain. This means you win trades by avoiding damage more than dishing it out. Poke them when you can, avoid their retaliation.

And... yeah. Fiora isn't a very good teamfighter. She is best in small skirmishes(2v2, 3v3 etc) or 1v1s. When I play her, I just split push.

Not a very experienced fiora player, but generally trade when enemy tries to cs (especially cannon minion, force them to choose between hitting you and losing cannon minion or taking cannon minion and losing hp), aim your q at their vitals, save your w to when theyll use their cc/most damaging ability. you can trade really hard with your q and e, just dont dive into too many minions while doing so. i feel like you should usually back up after q and proccing your second e, but i dont think that many toplaners can outduel you if you perform well this combo and still have your w up (and soon q again because you just hit someone with it).

About teamfights as fiora you probably want to go for the enemy adc/apc, but you may also help to burst down enemy assassin if they have, or peel for your adc (probably only if its some super scaling adc that outdamages anything else like KogMaw), i also think you should not be afraid to throw your ultimate too much, as even if you managed to proc it on some non carrying opponent like the enemy tank you still do help your team a lot (probably do this if youre behind), as its better to have a successful ultimate than no ultimate at all after failing to execute the enemy carry you just failed killing or procing the ult on. but yea generally (ultimately when youre ahead) your role is to pop up enemy carries, and throwing your ult at them helps you out with it and also to survive after it.

I'm a gold 323k Fiora main at your service. Vitals are most of your damage, max Q. Do not go for a trade when they have a ton of minions, you'll lose. If you Q almost parallel to the vital, you can hit it and stay at a safe distance, almost never Q straight towards one in a short trade.

Now, vitals appear on the opposite side they just were, so if the first one was on the north side, the next would be on the south. Then it switches

Your Q W and E can pop vitals, now if you're decently pushed into lane I wouldn't Q to cs as its your only escape besides flash. That is, if you don't know where the enemy jungler is. The herald buff is REALLY GOOD on Fiora get it whenever possible.

Rushing Tiamat is good if you're new to Fiora as it makes it so you won't be shoved under turret. The standard full trade combo is Q E Tiamat active E

I take AS quints to help pop vitals AD reds Armor yellows 3 mag resist blues and 6 scaling CDR Blues

Always parry damage before cc, unless you'll take tons of damage if they cc you

To get maximum damage out of ult, proc one vital then ult for a maximum of 5 vitals.

Your E slows, use it to help pop ult vitals in conjunction with Q. With Fiora you really just want to get fed in lane then split push If you have tp and baron is up I suggest going bot lane to split, because you can tp to baron.

My standard build is item 3074 item 3071 item 1001 item 3142 item 3026 item 3139

But that's mainly for splitting Note: I wouldn't ever first back item 3155 I always start item 1055 and if I'm vs like Pantheon I buy a item 2033 as soon as I can. If you have any matchup questions, feel free to ask

Fiora has a strong level 2 powerspike, so I try and get level 2 first and trade with my opponent Ability order I get is Q, W, E, Q, Q, R Maxing R>Q>E>W

I'm running out of time, if you have any more questions please ask.

Fiora takes too much skill to play well and you can still be useless lategame vs balanced teamcomps later, even if you win early and midgame (with toplaner that has AOE or CC, not a splitpushing bot). I recommend to try Riven when she is free or if you can buy her (builds similar items, but has superior waveclear, AOE dmg, disruption with 2 moves and being manaless is a big plus, while having even more outplay potential than Fiora). I think that the Fiora rework was a mistake with all the % max HP - she was annoying to face, if you play any tank (like GP prenerfs, who could ignore your armor), but she got nerfed and now everyone can bruteforce you with more dmg and more tankiness. The point of the Fiora rework was to make her healthy (aka counterplay) + less feast or famine, but the rework failed - her ult has no counterplay outside of running from her, she is still feast or famine and they introduced another hypermobile champion (if you have 30 % or more CDR) which is annoying, because you can't punish her for making any mistakes, but she has easy time chasing.
