Moderkaiser is temporarily unhandleable. It's better to retrieve changes b4 a remake in the future.

Clearly both new or old are not perfect. While Riot team don't really have good thoughts and enough time to handle him right now. It would be better to try the bot lane melee idea on a new champion, instead of leaving Moderkaiser in such a poor condition. But for now, why don't we just bring him back to mid land for now, and wait for a good idea coming up to remake him? Just like what has been done on Kog'Mow, retrieving the changes temporally could be the best solution to everyone.

The current situation is that nearly no one plays Mordekaiser. This is unhelpful for observing how the possible changes can be made. Recovering the old Morderkaiser will attract the old Morde fans to play him. Since the assassins are mostly mid lane, and Morde's iron sheild has a close interaction with assassin's nuke damage. This will help reamake teams to collect the information how Mordekasier will interact with the new assassin pacth.

Also, the old Mordekasier actually had a relatively good mechanism comparing to other remade champions, which just needed some development on his play style.

First, just to declare. Remake is good. I remembered that I was a big fan of playing Moderkaiser, Poppy, Fiora, and also AP Tristana before all those remakes. I can say, those old mechanisms wouldn't meet today's standards of an interactive gameplay experience. Remakes were good.

However, as for the mid lane Moderkaiser, I can say his gameplay mechanism was not too bad. It'll be OK for us to play the mid lane Kaiser instead of the bot lane one, before a good remake showing up.

His remake was caused by two reasons. The actually biggest one was that no one liked him, which was not a gameplay problem. On this issue, an art update, in my personal opinion, would be better. But making a champion popular does no good to enhancing the game experience, so let's not discuss about that. In fact, rather than those streamlining designed ones, I prefer weird monsters a lot.

The second reason was about his mechanism. His main gameplay problem was his nuke style, like the R+E+flash+Q combo, which was brainless and dealt insane damage. Today's Morde lost some burst, and maintains a balance between tankyness and burst damage, while having a great continues damage. This prefection, which didn't make him stand out of other bot lane champions, instead eliminated his characteristics and made him boring. (It is not designers' fault. It's just that people's general play style is fixed. The mid to bot attempt was excellent, for it brought the game various possibility. This is huge. )

Oppositely, the old Morde's mechanism was actually not bad, that he lacked mobility, but in the same time, as long as he touched anyone, he kept undying. While keeping a good distance weakens him hugely since you wouldn't build tank items on him. (Protobelt would be a must for mid lane Morde, maybe it'd be better to keep the healing? ) It was very old, but interactive and interesting to a lesser extent.

Also, due to his great lane clearing speed, in the meantime, the lack of effective ganking ability and AOE as a traditional mage, he needed to farm his own jungle and even enemies’ to gain a huge economic advantage to win. The best part is that, due to this mechanism, he was no afraid of getting ganked and dying, which became a big question to enemy jungler - should I camp him when I couldn't restrict his economy, or should I leave him alone to farm like a boss? His mechanism completely changed the way we usually played the games. I do believe it'll be cool if Riot remake him based on this attribute.

Thank you for clicking, reading and voting. And Thank you in advance if any designer listen to my suggestion.

Mordekaiser** : For great... torment!**

Edit: Hmm... I can't change my title. I meant revert* not retrieve.

I believe the term you're looking for is "revert". Like what they recently did to Kog'Maw.

Juggernaut/ BattleMage should be the role focus of any Rework as for a revert the itemization isn't there to support old Mordekaiser he used to build WOTA ( for sustain) into Rylais. Both of which have been removed from him
