I am trying to learn this champion because i like him. I have played him in jungle sometimes since when' he came out but now i'm trying mid. Most of the times i fail. I failed vs Yasuo and Brand today I'm testing his potential,i tried to fight brand early levels after dodgive his W (the spell with higher damage) but i lost :|. Damage is very low Q does nothing if i hit only once,and second hit is easy to dodge. E does no damage too Stun is good but really easy to dodge
Basic trade combo would be to hit them with Q and dash to them with E when Q is about to return to ensure both parts of Q hit. This will then cause your passive to activate and you can disengage.
Ekko's passive is a major source of his damage. You cannot ignore it when trading you you will lose.
If you find you can't land his stun, then you should use it for zone control and the shield. Use it to prevent your enemies from escaping through certain directions, to make you bulkier in a fight, and to lessen harass when farming in lane.
I don't think he's supposed to be strong early.
He is weaker early game. Particularly before he had his ult. You can win trades before then but it definitely takes some effort. I'd say farm passively at least until level 6 and use your q to keep them off of their cs.
Against certain champs he can do nothing, but against other champs his passive is impossible to deal with.
