Preseason Ideas: Rework and Expansion of the Guardian Angel item tree
In comparison to some of league's more recently redesigned gameplay, the mechanics around Guardian Angel feel a bit stale.
The idea here is to give players more applicable options for buying a revive defensive item in league. This also offers Riot new tuning levers to balance reviving's impact on the game than one blanket revive item creates.
For the sake of brevity and encouraging discussion, I'm avoiding assigning combine costs and stats to these item. My main concern is with diversity of build path and resurrection mechanics.
Some preliminary item changes
0: Raptor Cloak -> Ancient Totem 0a: Banshees Veil -> become a component w/less stats, same passive. Passive now aligned as ‘Veil’. Recipe: Crystalline Bracer + Rejuvenation Bead Passive: Veil – Spell shield, 40 sec out of combat cd.

Angel Wings – aprox 1200g Recipe: Cloth Armor + Faerie Charm + Faerie Charm Passive: Gain ‘Miraculous Resurrection’ (One time buff ‘Miracle’, same resurrection as current GA) Passive: This item cannot be sold

Guardian Angel Recipe: Angel Wings + Mecurial Sash Passive: ‘Mercurial Resurrection’ – 300 sec cd – (think mobile, controllable Anivia ult, about 200 ms)

Totemic Angel Recipe: Angel Wings + Ancient Totem Passive: ‘ Sacrificial Resurrection’ – 300 sec cd – If you die under an enemy turret, after 2 seconds you gain control of this turret for 4 seconds + turret takes damage + prioritizes champions before manual assignment.

Vengeful Angel Recipe: Angel Wings + Banshees Veil Passive: Angelic Veil – Spell Shield, 30 sec out of combat cd. Passive: ‘Wrathful Resurrection’ 300 sec cd – You are temporarily revived inside your attack range of the one who killed you. (Blatant pirating of the old Yorick ult)
Then we can also have fun resurrecting an old item into a new role if we can sort out an effective banshees based build path :P
- 5: Force of Nature Recipe: Spirit Visage + Banshees Veil Passive: Nature’s Veil – Spell Shield 30sec cd. Every spell that hits you reduces cd by 2 sec. Passive: Nature’s Embrace – When Nature’s Veil is triggered you count as out of combat for the next 20 seconds for the purposes of movement, recall, and regeneration.
