Is Aatrox good/bad?

As soon as I got 6300 IP a long time ago, first thing I did was buying Aatrox, the old one, which was a waste cause I didn't really know how to play it. But a few days ago I wanted to try the new Aatrox for the first time, see if anything changed, and it's completely different now, still can't play it though. Now I wonder, is the new Aatrox considered good, bad, average? Is Aatrox even worth playing right now? Please don't answer "don't bother" or something like that, I would like detailed answers on why he's good/bad/average Thanks

Not smart people will claim he's in a good spot since he see's "pro play" while not looking at the actual in game footage and individual performance of Aatrox in those games to see that he doesn't hit hardly anyone and just presses R and flails around while missing all of his Q's and his W chain fails to burn even one Flash as whomever he chained simply walks out of it. It's so hilarious listening to people call him "in a good spot rn".

His itemization is also abysmal and easily countered. His animations are slower and more telegraphed than Illaoi's, and his auto attacks are so slow he has massive pauses when trying to last hit that you always eat harass and can't react.

Last I checked his base health was lower than Ashe's too. So that's pretty awful given he's supposed to be this "Early Game All-In Juggernaut" that falls off hard late, as he never starts strong in the first place.

His core item is item 3071 , which we can safely say that he hardly benefits from given that he can't reliably apply the stacks since he can't stick to anyone he commits to nor hit them. The health stats do little to mitigate his terrible bases.

item 3142 gives him some basic edge, but at the cost of any defense he so sorely needed. With the nerfs to his lifesteal he can't make use of this and the move speed buff will simply not make up for his slow, self rooting Q, and easily walked out of W or single charge E dash.

His R is simply a means to prolong the inevitable as you more often than not end up bursted down due to your low defenses and the fact that you didn't kill or disrupt anyone running up on your team. So you stand there limping away while they clean up your team and then turn on you.

He's frankly, a mess.

He's a balance mess which causes that he's a often played champ on pro play but a terrible soloQ champ and it's not about the numbers it's about his design that makes him so damm good on coordinated play.

So, until they somehow tweak his kit to making him be posible to be balanced for both soloQ and pro play I recommend you to buy other champs because he's gonna be overnerfed for majority of the players as you or me.

Garbage tier, victim of a failed rework, lies and ego.

Aatrox sucks right now and they need to do something to fix it.... so much for my goal of wanting to get an S on every champion this year. Good grief.[slayer-jinx-unamused] [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Yes and no. Everyone in na, myself included thinks he is pure garbage. Europe thinks he's op and he is constantly picked but never actually performs in pro. Basically his laning is garbage cuz he has no sustain, but he is played because he is decently safe first pickable since he actually has more of a chance vs ranged cancer than most other melees since he has long range casts. However he still has high cc and good presence in teamfights if you can survive laning. So no, I really would not suggest playing him, unless you are only going to play aatrox he probably isn't worth it. But if you want to, go for it. Most champs are generally playable and he is apparently pretty fun to play, despite his trash laning
