I didn't really get any tips, but if I were to give a tip, it'd be to understand your opponents' champions. Too often I find players who don't know some small (but important) aspects of a champion's kit.

For instance a top laner who keeps auto attacking Jax during his E (knowing that they're ignored, but unaware that it makes Jax's E do more damage) or that Olaf gains attack speed as he runs low on health.
Other examples would be mid laners unaware that Orianna's auto attacks (passive applications) do more damage with each application (up to 2 times), adcs/supports underestimating the roaming power of Aurelion Sol or Taliyah, and Junglers trying to start dragon against a team with GP or Shen top.

Each one of these small (or large in the case of Aur S/Taliyah roam) mistakes could turn an early trade, skirmish, or teamfight. If you do not know your opponent, you cannot know what you can safely do.

Pick a champion you really like and stick with them. Get very experienced with them. You'll find you can do more with that champ than you would've thought you could before. Now that it's either one of two lanes, pick your 2nd favorite champion and master (not literally as in mastery level, just experience) them too. Eventually you'll know certain champs you can't play against, in that case just swallow your pride, and play some other champion you're confident with. Good luck!

Don't feed.

No really, don't feed. When someone gets ahead, play way more cautiously so they can't tower dive you, and if they do end up that fed, play waaaay back so you can retreat to inner turret if need be. Pre-gold mentalty seems to involve repeatedly taking the same trades, and repeatedly dieing, and/or repeatedly being tower dove (since the first times must have been luck).

Didn't know this in Season 1, but a friend told me for Season 2.

"There's a free skin if you get gold."

To any junglers stuck in lower elo:

  1. Check games you start on lolskill.
  2. Find the enemy player that has a loss streak or the most defeats in the past 5 games.
  3. Camp his lane till he tilts.

100% win rate.

_** To any laners stuck in lower elo:

You are in a lane where you get harrased by poke with no way to retaliate or approach the minions to last hit?

Spam laugh (Ctrl +4) and mastery icon if you have it. Literally, the entire time you have to wait zoned from CS just spam laugh at the very edge of their poke/engage zone.

It will tilt the opponent into trying to land skillshots and waste spells.

Then you can farm safely once they run out of mana(or their spells go on cooldown).

It can also set up nice ganks as the opponent will be pushing the lane without meaning to because he wants to murder your laughing ass.

Play one champion a lot and play as few roles as possible with about 2 champions per role.
