The forgotten ability to give mana.

As a Soraka main and a player who started playing League in the end of season 6 I am really curious why the ability of Soraka to give her teammates back mana was removed. I can understand why the one with the self healing was removed, but why the mana ? There is no actual champion/item or potion that is able to give you or your teammates mana. One other thing is that I can't complain wich one is more OP, the ability to return mana to your team or the silence which turns into a stun (snare) after a short period of time. I would really like to see the ability back in the game, because of the great use it will have! Soraka summoner 13

The logic was to have less stalemate lanes where you just hang back and poke forever with zero incentive to interact and junk. Simple solution to that would be to make the transfer consume Soraka's mana too, like with the heal change.

I think that even if it came back it wouldn't be very helpful without a big rebalance to mana. Even a champ like Lucian doesn't feel the need to rush Essence Reaver currently. Meanwhile solo lane champs can just stack a few doran's rings/buy lost chapter first back and have most mana issues disappear with a morello purchase. Jungle champs might have mana costs without blue, but can live without it after the first clear. Top laners can just buy corrupting potion if they want mana and sustain. Champs really just aren't that heavily gated by mana anymore when played smart. At least not enough to justify a champ that gives mana.

Mostly becuase it made her obnoxious in lane with a poke champ like Corki, as he could spam all his stuff 24/7 thx to the extra manasustain. It also came with little drawback as it at the same time was her main tradeing/harras tool so maxing it was always a good call. Giving mana sustain to others can be pretty hard to balance. However, if it was more gated, like as part of a teamfight-reseting ult with high cd, or if it did scale non linar into lategame so it's not very potent in lane it could certainly work.
