Let's talk about Dominion and why it's being retired.
So a lot of people are in an uproar about Dominion being retired, but they are failing to see the reason why it was retired. So even when Dominion first came out people chose to play SR over Dominion. Dominion was never really popular even to begin with, so supporting something that only .5% of the community plays would be a huge waste of resources. And even if they did decided to overhaul Dominion, do you really think that more people would play it over SR? What if Riot decided to remove SR and then make Dominion the optimal game mode for league of legends? You would see a hell of a lot more people complaining and Raging than there are about Dominion being removed. At the end of the day the real reason Dominion is being removed isn't because of Riot, it's because of us, the player bases sheer lack of interest in the game mode is what killed Dominion. If more people actually played Dominion then there wouldn't be a reason for it to be removed, and I firmly believe Riot would then support the game mode. I personally never really played Dominion, but I am sad to see the game mode being removed, it's been part of league ever since I started playing back in season 3. I hope everyone understands that the fall of Dominion wasn't because riot didn't try, it's because the majority of the player base didn't enjoy it over Summoners Rift.
R.I.P Dominion, You will be Remembered.
