When is the new Yorick supposed to be released?

I understand that Yorick is a difficult subject, but i was hoping that there would be come information on his rework release date beings that every time. I look everything up on him i only see information from around a year ago or before Taric, Poppy, Ryze rework. And if he is still in development could we be given some information about what the ideas are so far so i can add commentary. Or just drop some ideas/ bombshells to his design so far.

Pretty sure Riot has 2 or 3 more Ryze reworks planned before Yorick.

They've pretty much said he will likely be done during the off-season: late this year or early next.

Sukishoo2 votes

No. They said he will be before Pre-season as the Assassin update is now set for then.

i must have been dreaming when i thought they said it was gonna be realeased before 6.18

Ryze was the one before 6.18, along with another champion (Kled, who should be 6.16). Yorick could be by 6.18 or just slightly after,

Near the end of the season, most likely in October-November.

OK ty for the quick responses hopefully it doesn't take that long i have been waiting for almost 2 years for something to be done to him.

You can also look in the patch notes for when they will be working on him and about his release (as in which patch he will be fully released). All I know is that Ryze will have to be fully complete before any work with Yorick.

This is wrong for multiple reasons. There are multiple (three) teams working on champion updates. The team working on Ryze is not the same as the team working on Yorik. Yorik has actually been in the process of being worked on longer than Ryze was, Ryze just had a model 80% complete and didn't need as much work, which is why he managed to get out faster. Secondly, Ryze is already fully complete and launched, so any changes to him are now going to be from the balance team working to even his numbers out if required. Champion update is basically done with him.

RageQ21 votes

Okay, I was wrong with one part, my bad, but for sure Yorick will not be getting released until a later patch that's after the completed Ryze update.I remember seeing it in a list of Riots upcoming patches with upcoming champ reworks and features. I tried searching it up, but had no luck finding it.

Ryze's update is already out, so of course Yorik is going to be after him

RageQ21 votes

But, but it isn't updated to a fairly balanced state for both beginners and expert players. When he gets to that point his win rate should go back to somewhere around 50% and not be at the 37-38% like he is now. Even with other champions, after the rework only brought their win rates up to 2 at max or it was equal so Riot has a fair bit of work to get done here...

But champion update is no longer in charge of Ryze, he's now under the live balance team. His kit is finished, it just needs numerical tweaks. Point is, it has no bearing on Yorik's release.

RageQ21 votes

And? I just stated that Ryze is in dire need to be balanced by you know what, the live balance team, he needs fairly massive tweaks like always as no new reworked champ has ever been at this low of a win rate. Also you have to still remember they are still working on Yorick, just you can't expect him until they get these fixes out. It'll be better anyways because it gives them more time on Yorick

underscores2221 votes

Updates on Ryze now have no affect on Yoriks schedule. They're independent teams. Ryze could need a million patches to be balanced, but that won't have any impact on when Yorik arrives.

RageQ21 votes

Yet the MAIN idea in Riots mind is to finish Ryze BEFORE releasing Yorick.

underscores2221 votes

Yorik is being worked on. There are multiple update teams working on multiple champions, so other "smaller" scale reworks may come along before Yorik is done (like Ryze). This does not mean work has halted on Yorik or that resources are being taken away from his update. It's just a different team working on a different project. Riot doesn't want to give us a hard time because things can happen. They have promised him by the end of the year though. I would suggest looking at surrender at 20 for PBE patch notes, because he will be sent there before hitting live.

But i believe he is fine as he is, and i am afraid of this rework

VivaLaKitten1 votes

They need to make his ult different, it's basically a worse Zilean ult / GA That's gonna be hard seeing his whole lore and kit

What Patch do you guess the Yorick Update to be released?

Somewhere in the 6.19-6.21 range approximately. If it were in 6.18 he'd almost certainly be disabled for Worlds.
