Should not get stunned after flash

So often I get aggrevated by wasting flash because a close range stun doesn't take effect until immediately after I flash! Take for instance leonas melee stun: I have run into this aggravating issue several times where I am getting chased by leona and I flash out of her range but I am immediately stunned once my flash is complete which completely negates the purpose of flash. It makes sense if I was able to flash out of range then her stun should not have actually hit me! It should be fixed so either the flash goes off or the stun hits, preventing the flash. Not flash, then get stunned by some disembodied melee ability. It's the same for other abilities (I won't get into, now) that terminates after the target has left the range of the ability. Does this make sense to anyone else?

It does make sense. Her stun is an empowered auto attack; once a melee attack is past a certain point in its animation it will go through regardless of how far you move out of its range, the same as a ranged attack (though visually the ranged attack is far more distinct). This prevents simple movement speed from absolutely countering melee basic attacks; if you could just walk out of the range to negate them without fail, all you'd need to do is keep walking to prevent all melee attacks (dependent on your MS and their AS).

that's a good point, I hadn't thought about it in terms of ranged abilities. But there is definitely a difference between ranged and melee (bullet travel time). I was thinking about it like if a melee attack hits and brings you to 0 health you die instantly, but instead sometimes you flash and then die. characters could still go through attack animations, it would be just like me swinging a sword, if whatever I am swinging at is suddenly not there my sword still goes through the motion but I don't hit anything. You are saying if the animation happens then the damage happens, and I suppose that is what I don't like. Maybe I am thinking too realistically for a video game...but then again, isn't that what makes video games so appealing, these days? making the characters seem real? giving them a backstory and history with eachother? Flash has almost become a necessary part of the game, everyone uses it and loves it. I just think it should be changed a bit (improved?).
