Is that it for Rumble?

I'll try to make this one really quick since there isn't really much to say what wasn't said already:

New PBE patch just rolled out and seeing how quickly this cycle lost its pace (from Irelia rework, new skins and a few balance changes to some champs and runes to pretty much just Ahri stuff) I'm getting somewhat curious/concerned whether or not are Rumble's balance changes going to recieve a follow up, or maybe there's different set of changes in testing that we might see? Either way, while I appreciate the new direction taken with Rumble (focusing more on the power of his early game rather than emphasizing him as an ult bot is great), the changes that hit PBE on 3/21 don't feel like they're enough to really put Rumble back into a meaningful place. It's a good start but on its own it might not be enough to really carry him back to a more reasonable place.

So now all I'm asking for is a response to this question, are the changes so far all that we can expect for Rumble? Or is there more coming up in the following days?

Rumble is getting a +40 in his Q damage at rank 1, that is a pretty big number jump and is going to make his early trades pretty strong.

I'd rather they increase his survivability than his damage. I hate how he went from a scrappy battle mage to a glass cannon mage that either blows you up in a second or dies instantly because he's melee. Him being able to take more focus fire without me building him with tank items would be far more useful, in my opinion.

I'd rather they not make rumble a solid pick until they rework him, when he is a solid pick its because he has no significant weaknesses to punish due to how his heat system works it makes it never a good choice to trade with rumble.

To get the sweeping changes you want you would need to give up the red zoned auto damage amp, and replace it with a red zone auto attack penalty that cuts auto damage by 25% or even just prevents autoing due to overheat, being rewarded for overheating was always a poor design choice and one i hope they remove in his rework so that overheating is as bad as it sounds.

+40 (+60) damage on his Q at lvl 1 is MASSIVE.

that was a really small buff for the early game, rumble need more changes...

wow a lot of people dont play rumble im guessing he needs a much bigger buff then 60 dmg a karma can out trade and dmg any rumble player now thats a sad fact rumble was a really good champ but riot fucked him up making him clunky and weak on top of it picking rumble is suicide having a champ that weak for the first 6 lvls and falls off at 28 mins to 30% win rate geez might aswell delete the poor fucker

This buff is another attempted band-aid to a champion who needs fundamental changes. 7.12 gutted Rumble. Changes to make him more viable will need to address that.

They said there's going to be a VU... With a new skin coming out for Rumble it somewhat hints they may be close (Perhaps the skin was an attempt). I'd expect along with that.. there may be some improvements made on him, a mini vgu sorta deal.

I personally think it's fine though i don't play rumble much mind you i would like to remind you that the pro's did play him a lot and the second he sticks his head out of the barrel he's going back up there again. I know what people will say "they shouldn't balance the game around the pro's " well you're telling that to the wrong person as i don't work for riot but just my 2 cents you may not want to buff him too much.

Rumble is one of the most cumbersome and least fun champions to play in the game IMO. I just tried playing him after years of having him on the bench and now I see his ult has an actual channel time. Nice!

It is indeed a good start and we Rumble mains know it, but it's also clearly not enough. I hope that riot will deliver the changes after all the time we have waited, especially after the efforts and the commitment they decided to take on patch 8.6. A Q buff with a W buff would be a great starting point, just finalize it and let's us see if something has improved.

the problem with Rumble is the same problem with every melee right now. Unless you are a tank, you can't function because everything does too much freking damage. The only other option you have as a melee is to delete everything fast enough that they don't kill you, which is not only impractical, but even then wont guarantee you dont instadie, let alone are useful anymore if you manage to live with 12 hp.

I used to do pretty well with Rumble on my otehr account. Its what got me from B5 to Silver 2. Non-stop playing Rumble.

I think hes fine honestly. Nothing IMPRESSIVE, but also not garabage. Hes great against High-Healing teams when he builds Morello. All that AOE grievous wounds.

passive changes are harder for surrender at 20 to track so there may be something there
