If you could make 3 changes to improve the "game". what would they be?and why?

(a repost since downvote bot hit it down last week.)

this post is about sharing game improvement opinions/ideas rather then debating them. please share your ideas as i would very much like to hear what other peoples ideas are.

for me i would make these 3 changes.

1. lower or outright remove gold/exp/power from early objectives..(FB,drag,rift,towerplates..ect) i mean by like a lot for at least for the 1st 10-15 min of the game.

the reason for this is because i believe this would fix a lot of the things people are complaining about... less important early objectives means jungle dont need to be gutted directly.top might feel more relevant as well.... games dont have to rely around bot lane as much.. less snowballing..early champs can fall off. late/mid game champs might get an opportunity to come online.ect.. having objectives only matter later on may make the game more about team fights in the later stages rather then the stomp lane and rotate in 1st 10-15 we have now.

2. revert the runes system back to the old. and just readjust, change, add numbers and stuff to make the old ones a bit more interesting

as soon as they added the new ones i saw they would have many issues in balancing. as anytime you you change one rune it will effect MANY champs at the same time which creates more work.. as many champs could get to weak or strong from direct runes changes. and if you change a champ that is to strong/weak with certain runes it may break the champ balance with the other runes. either way its a balancing nightmare...

the other problem is the runes favor/reward damage and aggressive playing and riot seems to not want them to do much of other things.. which is also a large reason the game is like it is now.

3.refund skins and champ BE for reworked champs...or ~~stop with the disaster/gut reworks ~~at least let me trade them in for something else

its not to cool to buy a skin for a champ you like only to have it removed from the game later.i mean what if i dont like the rework then i am stuck with skins i paid for that i dont ever use again...

**1. **Rework the MMR/Matchmaking system - cause it's clearly broken for way to long.

**2. **Change the patching system - the release time in particular - since the system is bombarded with updates and changes way to often. If this was done once every 4 months or so - the client could finally get proper updates - where they fix more stuff than they brake (a stable client - for a change).

**3. **Try to balance all champions by creating a standard that's based on common sense - for every class. Cause currently there's no such standard (the balancing is quite chaotic - to say the least). Thus, some champions are overpowered by design - while others are handicapped. For example: if armor buff abilities were capped at around 60 - 300 - depending on level (which seems reasonable enough) - we'd never see a broken release like Sett - a champ that can get a 2000 HP shield buff from an ability - despite of being a heavy bruiser.

Give everyone 6 more armour and MR. We lost a lot in runes reforged and the 7.22 compensation changes champs got were weird. You know Ori has base 17 armour? she's made of metal.

Tone down the reseting dash slippery problem champs like Irelia, Yasuo, Akali and Pyke by removing them from the game.

Add more hidden lore passives based on champ matchup/teamups, because the game is meant to be fun.

They don't add depth, they add "complexity". As to say, if you don't know how they work, you are directly countering yourself.

  1. Fix Pathing/Models and hitboxes/minimap control What's worse than your champ having to try to walk around minions and their hitboxes? Randomly getting stuck in them. Or on terrain. Or champion-made terrain, even from allies. Minion hitboxes are larger than most of the popular ADCs or mages, which had to happen because scummy strategies involving abusing spaghetticode was encouraged by pro-play There's no option to make it so the minimap doesn't move the camera, so it can dart your camera halfway across the map, and make it so your champion attempts to follow the mouse at the new camera location. Which happens to run you straight into enemies.

  2. Fix your matchmaking If someone was Platinum last season, they don't magically become iron this season. You'll just ruin about 20 iron-gold games that way. If someone was DIAMOND last season, the same rule applies People generally don't get noticeably massive changes in tiers by season. Just let Rank MMR roll over. If you're doing it because of stolen accounts, you're kinda doing it the wrong way. Why ruin the games from iron-gold, that is NINETY+ PERCENT of the playerbase.

If one person on your team is worse at the game than their opponents, you'll likely lose If you have a bronze on your team in your silver game, it is still likely to have a gold on the enemy team. And it is possible to have to fight a plat in that game too. If you lose first inhib, you have about a 9% chance to win It's about 20% if you don't get first baron It's about 30% if you lose first tower Comebacks are getting harder, but toxic positivity must prevail, and it is always YOUR fault if you hit any of these conditions, even though this is a team game, and the competitive allows groups of 2 to compete against teams of single players. Not to mention that there are hundreds if not thousands of players in much MUCH higher tiers that go smurfing through the lower tiered games. (Before you give Riot a free pass on this, there are OFFICIAL RIOT GAMES/LEAGUE OF LEGENDS PARTNERS that STREAM themselves doing it. It IS officially approved of, if they're willing to give their endorsement to the channels.)

  2. Remove duo que from Ranked. Its an unfair advantage.

  3. Start punishing people who troll/int/AFK/ragequit. These things are very rarely punished.

revert the game including all new champs, reworks n sht to season 5 at the least. the further back u go, the better. idc what issues existed , nothing beats what the game has become today. refund everyone who bought skins and new champs and all that crap.

I'd change a lot of things, but these are mostly what I think about every time I load up the game. I used to love playing league, but lately it feels like I'm playing because I used to love it, not because I still do.

  • Give champions weaknesses again. To be more specific there are two types of design flaws that Riot has been pushing since the Fiora rework, and it's only gotten more extreme. The first type is a class of champions that have no weaknesses period. These champions go back and forth between completely unfair to play against and and nearly unplayable in solo queue. An example would be Yuumi or Akali. They both lack weaknesses of enchanters and assassins respectively. However, there's also champions that are overpowered, but have a weakness, you just barely notice it because they get so many other things in their kit for free. Examples of this would be Senna and Aphelios. They're weak to engage, but so bonkers in every other way it doesn't matter in the end.

  • Ranked isn't taken seriously, and it's because the only people who get punished are the ones who say bad words or are harassing teammates. I can press mute for the duration of the game. Although, I'd also add that whoever you mute should be muted in end game chat as well. What I can't deal with is inters/griefers/leavers. Those are the players that make me feel powerless because they're wasting my time. There needs to be harsher punishments for these players that bans them from ranked games for a period of time. I'm tired of Riot using such a strict definition when it comes to these serious issues. At present, one has to basically admit to what they're doing in the chat in order to get a punishment.

  • Funnel resources into creating an efficient client. The current one is just bad. There's no nice way to put it. I've had my client break so many times in just this past three months that it's ridiculous. It's not uncommon for people to freeze during the loading screen, and they usually don't realize until it's too late that the tiny loading icon in the top left hand corner froze. On top of that it's just an eyesore with so many unnecessary aspects.

Come to think of it, pretty much the only thing keeping me in this game is a mixture of nostalgia and excitement for the art design/lore aspects of the game. There's just far too many problems with the gameplay right now.

1: Return Morello to head of Game Balance position, Sure he was memeworthy with how he Olaf'd and Irelia'd people, but the game was actually playable as any class under his guidance, and a lot of the changes that have come, came AFTER he was moved to other departments/projects. Morello really understood how to balance the game properly, and the champions he nerfed to oblivion were LEGITIMATE ISSUES when left where they were. New Irelia wouldn't be nerfed that hard, and with the recent roster of champion changes, he'd have a lot more to work with on problematic champions.

2: Remove 50% of attack-procced %max/missing HP damage "skills" or passives. These really have no place in the game beyond 1-2 champions to counter HP tanks. Now that almost anyone can either Build it, or already has it built into their kit, we've watched Tanks and Bruisers slowly decline in play.

3: More AR and MR items that aren't super expensive, and offer viable stats. one item shouldn't negate 40% of the 8000 gold a tank/bruiser's spent on just existing long enough to do their job.

  1. Add variety to the runes, as you said the runes rn are just add damage to champs that already do damage. Give us some viable choices.
  2. Bring back items they deleted like zz rot and sight stone. I should have options besides straight offense or defense
  3. Apply a point system to champs design, so if that champ gets a strong ability there is some drawback elsewhere. I just want all champs to be viable so im not stuck in games with others spamming the S tiers

1: Upon death, a player will receive an encouraging braum quote to help them on their way

This will totally help to remove stress and tilting. How could anyone be mad when hearing :"When life gives you curdled milk, be patient. You get very good cheese!"

2: Anyone with mastery 6 or 7 will automatically be skilled players

This means that our 1.4mil mastery yasuo wont always go 0/10

3:Every attack has a 0.0001% chance to nerf irelia

Revert runes back to how they were and fix them from there. (removing need to purchase and making other options viable other than the basic 2 sets)

Have a specific division of Riot dedicated to actually listening and responding to the community. (Get major issues fixed much faster like Akali, Zoe, etc..) (Get the opinion of the people on updates like removing events, updating the map, etc...) (Get better public relations with the community to inspire actual discussions rather than just "I hate this because I do")

Try to remove negativity with positivity rather than punishment. (Making keywords bannable and the parameters much harsher did nothing but make people more toxic. Give the players a reason to not be toxic instead of just holding a ban over their head like a guillotine) (For most people, the game itself is just tilting, all you do is make it worse by restricting them from letting out the tilt. It's like telling someone who's mad to calm down repeatedly)

1.) give all champions champion resistance; at least 5% 2.) buff underpowered Keystones and runes, as well as inflexible runes to be more flexible 3.) rework cheeselord/lategame one-trick pony champions to never be binary again.

What makes WoW PvP - very similar in mechanics to LoL - so interesting is that people have a ton of health - so much so that coordinated forms of dps matter more than burst ever would. LoL doesn't need to go back to tanks hitting eachother like wet noodles but if it finds a balance to its pvp like WoW has it will make the game worthy of its current relevance.

What really irks me is that currently LoL does NOT care about its player-to-player balance. The gameplay is a broken mess and takes a backseat to...something. Honestly, it's not that there isn't enough power in the game - there needs to be MORE power in it. In ways that aren't damage or burst-per-second, because currently that's all that matters.

  2. Allows players to switch the orientation of the map (personally I find it harder to play redside botlane because my camera management is not good and I usually play lock can)

Just 1: Caps. Currently only CDR (40-45%) and AS (2.5, without Lethal Tempo) are the unic stats capped. I want caps for Lifesteal (25%), Lethality (50), True Damage Per Second/Hit (400) and Crit Chance (70%).

  1. Reconsider how valuable mobility is in a champion's power budget. Just like how resourceless champions don't really give up anything compared to mana champions while being infinitely more spammable, Mobile champions do not have an adequate trade off compared to immobile ones.

  2. Address Cooldown Reduction. Too much of it exists in items that people buy anyways - make there be a tradeoff in itemization to get CDR vs damage. EDIT : I want to expand on this one. High CDR makes the game much more frustrating to play. It shortens champion's moments of weakness and strongly increases the DPS in the game. It also puts the aforementioned mobility spells on a much lower cooldown, making them even more frustrating.

A champion like Ekko is the perfect example of the current CDR problem we have, in which he can easily achieve Max CDR in 3 items, which puts his rank 3 ultimate down to a 30 (!) second cooldown, and his heavy slow Q and double-dash go down to ~5 seconds each. The only way an Ekko dies at that point is if they make a mistake, or if the enemy hard-focuses him, forcing him to burn all of his numerous defensive mechanisms.

  1. Specific champion balance. Riot tends to dumpster champs, or overload them then overly trim them back.

  1. Fire every person in charge and every manager of every team/department. = they are formally and factually responsible for what has happened to the game 'till now.

  2. Fire half of the people in those teams. = having a boss who is "not good" doesn't mean you can't try to do better.

  3. Find actual competent people to start over. = we need people who know that a tank is not a damage dealer, that a Moba is not a beat 'em up game, that a matchmaking system must guarantee fair and close matches, that overload kits are a mistake and a non-sense in every tactical game, that defence and offence are both fundamental to enrich the game experience, and so on.

1: Lower damage / make better tanky items 2: Reduce early game gold so that people don't snowball as hard (this is part of the reason lots of games feel 1 sided) 3: Remove the ability for people to duo in separate Tiers (no silver 4's should be allowed to duo with Gold 1's it creates imbalanced matches Silver can duo with silver, gold with gold, plat with plat)

    • Revert Dragon back to standing gold - The primary issue with the game at current are the permanent dragon buffs, a serious flaw that has existed since it was first changed. These buffs have made the game 1-dimensional & put the focus on bot lane & jungle. Mid's purpose has become to roam bot & top is irrelevant, hence the new strategy to abandon the lane at the first chance.
    • Tone down damage across the board - It's impossible to build durability. MR & armor are gold sinks & the only viable defensive options are damage items like Death's Dance & Lifeline. Assassins are the worst offenders & require the heaviest nerfs to both their kits & items.
    • Implement accountability - Failed reworks, bad designs & backwards game changes. All of these need full reverts or Sion-ing & the designers held accountable. I'm not advocating a witch hunt, make a small oversight or a slight overtuning, no big deal. People make mistakes. However, any employee who has consistently churned out multiple conceptual nightmares & lost the company customers & revenue gets the axe. Exactly how a proper business is supposed to be run. If a burger flipper takes a shit on your sammich & says he knows what you want better than you do, his manager doesn't give him a handshake and a raise. So then why the fuck are Rito employees being treated exactly as such? This company is disgusting.

  1. Jungle a PVM role till 20 minutes. No ganking no anything. Only farming.

  2. 5 bans for each player.

  3. No new champions in Draft or Ranked mode for 1 month after they're released.

1. Combine rank and account level for matchmaking 2. Complete stat overhaul on all champions and items (to make the game less cluttered) 3. Remove ability buffering and put forced cast times on every spell in the game

Explanations:

for 1: This should be a safety net so e.g. a Gold 2 level 100 player can only play with and against players from Gold 3 - Gold 1 AND Level 70-130. There will be significantly less people in that category. If the wait time is expected to be way longer than normal, start by widening the level range, then the rank.

for 2: Just cange everyting concerning stats.

  • Every champ starts with 300 mana and has 1000 at level 18, with a fix regen. This is so the mana bar actually means something.
  • Every champ starts with 0 armor and 0 MR - scale down every champ's damage accordingly. Less complicated damage calculation while you have time to hover over a champ and look at the numbers.
  • Every champ starts with the same attack speed For a better feel when switching champs.
  • every finished crit chance item gives 25% every finished armor or MR item gives 50 every finished mana item gives multiples of 300 make letality flat again and make it remove e.g. 10 armor per finished item Because these stats are invisible, so having meaningful steps can help.
  • make attack speed a flat stat, so items give e.g. +0.25 attack speed, meaning +0.25 attacks per second remove MS soft caps and convert all +% MS in the game to flat numbers, e.g. +40 MS for 2 seconds To remove the necessary maths degree when trying to understand these stats.
  • ...

for 3: Think of how Sona and Udyr can't spam all their abilities one after the other ... they have to wait a short amount between each cast. Just put that on every ability on every champion. Can you even imagine how much better the game would be if you had to think before casting an ability instead of just rolling your face on the keyboard? And also the other way around - if you could actually see each ability coming in one at a time instead of being bursted down in an avalanche of dashes and VFX?

Implement balancing and gameplay-altering measures based on how good of a gaming experience it'll create, not to reflect what you want from pro play (which currently seems to command the state of the meta). Again. Multi-billion dollar company. You don't need to ruthlessly prioritize the 20-ish people that somehow manage to devote a career to playing your game when the majority of your playerbase are regular people

Any combination of the below starting with the most wanted changes:

Remove CDR from 70% of mage items so they have to choose between CDR and AP. Halve the amount of MR pen on Void staff or make it 300 gold more expensive. Remove Seraph's Embrace's shield active, halve the amount of mana that it gives and the AP ratio and half of the CDR. Remove Lost Chapter's second passive or half how much mana it gives. Remove Seeker's Armguards passive and lower Hourglass's armor to 30 and increase it's cooldown. Remove Banshee's Veil's AP and add MR.

Add 5 MR to Spectre's Cowl and 15 MR to Visage. Remove 50 HP. Add 5 MR to Abyssal and Adaptive and increase Adaptive's passive range. Remove the synergy between Rylai's and Liandry's or remove 10-15 AP from both. Reduce Storm Razor's passive to 50% slow. Remove half of Essence Reaver's CDR. Reduce IE damage to 75. Reduce Nashor Tooth's AP to 60. Buff the Resolve treeline. Especially Second Wind and just straight up replace Unflinching with Legend: Tenacity. Remove stealth from Vayne ult or remove true damage and change it to just %hp physical so that she isn't just a giant fuck you to melee champions(well, anymore than every ranged champ already is) and tanks can actually build against her.

I don't need to change 3 things. I only need one change to make me happy.

I would reduce kill gold by 40%. So instead of getting 400 gold for first blood, you'd get 240. A standard kill would give you 180 instead of 300. A fat bounty would give 600 instead of 1000. The idea is to achieve two things. One, it will make it possible to for sensible players to manage a game where you get at least one hardcore feeder. They gold lead given by your feeders won't be insurmountable. Secondly, it would skew the kill gold to minion gold ratio slightly more in favor of minion gold. This would make "play safe and farm up" actually viable in certain types of stompfests.

That single change could do a lot to improve the state of the game.
