Why does Ranked not lock you in if a champ is selected and the timer runs out, when normals do?

I keep apparently dodging when i play ranked because i fail to hit lock in after clicking my champion(too busy with loadout or communicating with team) because this works in normal games so whenever i switch between modes it can leave to some accidental dodging, SUCKS now i got 30min timer. That's something in draft mode, not ranked. Normal draft requires you to lock in as well

It's to make sure that the player is paying attention. Riot just wants to make sure that everyone in ranked is serious so they add a lot of buffers to the pre-game in order to make sure no one is trying to troll.

i think they have plenty "buffers" already, kind of counter productive when they let you declare your champion, showing youre not afk. Also, communicating with your team isnt jerking off, not every case is the same.

3 things, 1,, reading other comments i didnt know there were normal draft (im oce) 2, i didnt know timers go up to 30, i thought they only went to 20 3, its to reduce afk-ness as much as possible, or, idk, pretend i phrased it better
