Something needs to be done with ARAM

I have over 1200 games in ARAM so this is only my experience and opinion.

It's getting to the point where if i don't roll one of 18 select champions, i don't have fun. If my team has mostly melee, it feels like i'm wasting 20 mins of my life watching our Toons getting poked non-stop. And it IS to the point where if my team has no poke i just close League and play something else.

Making a new account and buying a few select champs could help(lower random pool), but that is not a solution. And the "Its only ARAM" does not mean i don't want to try and win and have epic fights, i do. But it's getting seriously hard to have tons of fun as of late.

I'm having a hard time taking it seriously now and i'm to the point where i ask if anyone else feels this way?

I don't have a solution in mind at all, it is too complex for a simple change.

Thanks for your time.

The problem is, that for us who play mainly ARAM, the "random" part is not what we like but simple to play on The Howling Abyss. The simplest solution is to add a blind pick queue. Before The Howling Abyss got it's own queue people played it in private games and a rather large part of those games were blind pick.

I know riot commented on it after the release of "new" Howling Abyss saying something like "it takes up a lot of time and work just to make a new queue" and "ARAM is supposed to be fun and relaxing" so they didn't add a blind pick queue. I however have always wanted one and hopefully enough other people do so too, to the extent that riot will consider making one.

its only aram. if you are concerned about WINNING, then you really need to take a step back and ask yourself why winning is so important. Because if youre not having fun playing a game mode that is 100% random and not winning, then you should go play something else. people like me troll in arams-we dont take them seriously, and i dont think theyre meant to be taken seriously.

If you really have a problem with ARAM, have a problem with the flood of computer controlled farming bots that are pervading that game mode. I swear, I just played 2 games where there were only 5 total human players between both teams - the remaining "players" were nothing more than poorly scripted programs.

And also, while I do agree that, yeah, getting slagged with an all melee team against a lot of poke sucks, that's what happens when chance takes the wheel. I personally think Ziggs has an irritating amount of poke for ARAM, but hey, everyone has their counters, and sometimes the random generator picks, sometimes it doesn't.

I've heard of two good ideas to potentially fix this kind of issue:

  • All champions are unlocked
  • Modify matchmaking so that it sorts players based on the number of champions they own with other players with a close number as well. Or being in a certain tier of owned champions (IE 10-20 champions; 21-35; so on)

ARAM would be nicer if it was truly random, but many people have ARAM only accounts or are simply fortunate enough to only own champions that are good in ARAMs. There's also the people who dodge when they don't get a good champion, which happens so frequently it's absurd.

Honestly, I don't play ARAMs because I'm feeling competitive. I enjoy winning, but I don't want to get stressed out about it. That's why I like the game mode. I don't think it needs to be competitive or super balanced, but seeing teams that constantly roll cait/nidalee/jayce/sona/morgana because they're ARAM only accounts can get frustrating.

Try fighting a Thresh, Ezreal, Xerath, Lux, and Sona team as a 5-melee team.

That's the real surrender@20.
