Fizz is not Fish7 votes

He is not that OP. People complain that there exist a melee champ who can fight against ranged champs even he is the only melee mid now. Talon,Dianna,Yasuo,Akali,Fizz all got fked.

not a starburst1 votes

Whether or not you believe he's OP, Zed has a pretty high skill level if you want to win tge game (not win the lane or get kills) with him, because even though he can delete squishies ridiculously easy and get out scot-free, he can't do too much in a fight after he's splattered someone. If he has a team who knows how to work with him and he knows what he's doing, Zed is practically unbeatable, but having both of those at the same time? Very rare.

Drunk Rummate7 votes

probably his weak teamfight. most zeds i play with end up getting super fed early-midgame but then they throw the game diving 1v5 in the lategame or getting caught while split pushing.

Because Zed excells in pick team comps which don't exist in yoloq. He isnt nearly of a faceroll that people make him sound to be.

If you look at his win rate over time, his win rate fluctuates from 45%-50% in diamond ELO, meaning tomorrow he may have a 50% win rate. Basing questions and statements on statistics from a single day is ridiculous.

To answer your question, the main reason why he doesn't have 50+% all the time even though he is very strong at the moment is because of him being so popular that those who don't know how to play him often fail playing as him. He is also pretty hard to carry with in the later stages in the game.

SmokinSickStyle1 votes

His winrate never got to the real OP ones when WW had almost 60% WR along with usual FoTM being always 55+

Even when he was not popular his winrate was never that high.

Anyway, extremely fun champions to play as never had a high winrate, take Fag Sin, he's arguably the most popular champion in the game since his release, despite being called OP for several years now i don't recall him having a gamebreakingly OP winrate as those mentioned above, because the difference in skill cap between a Wardick and a Lee Sin is huge (More like WW is just very easy and straightforward to use, you can't do anything wrong with him).

The same is going on for Zed, despite the nerfs he's always being played because he's fun to play.

We do not have to hide things, unless you are going for a ADC build, Zed takes a decent amount of skill to play and you gotta be creative, there could be some Zed plays that are different than some others, each player can pull off unique ways to perform with the champ.

If you look closely, you could see the win rate has been this low since the nerf. It is still low.

the best 2% of LoL players in NA/EU are in Diamond. Your reasoning is therefore invalid, because at Diamond ELO people who play Zed "know how to play" him, comparatively speaking. Even then, he never had a winrate that screamed "imba nerf pls", and he was even more irrelevant at lower elos.

It's hard to close out games when all high priority carries have Zhonyas/QSS by end game. And we all know how hard it is end games at lower elos.

Skillshots combined with a longer wait for burst than other assassins. You can counter his ult with 3 different items or heck just cc him when he goes in since giant x of I am killing you is pretty straightforward.. Then we have the the influx of "Zed brainded easy" people who actually just suck at the champion and lose constantly. I wonder how many of the people who call him OP have negative w/l with him.

I wonder how many people who complain about him have actually played him.

Also, down voted without even expressing a real opinion on Zed. I cant even mention his name without getting down voted anymore. Did I say he wasnt OP?

Within 2% of 50 is not considered too bad or too good, regardless.

Also a relatively small sample size looking at 1 day only.

This is ignoring him not being good in the hands of a novice and the impression that he is strong leading people to pick him up without prior experience.

Actually, the number didn't change much after the nerf.

Multiple reasoning, my friend.

My claim, a counterargument to your post if you will, is that Zed's win rate does not indicate being underpowered or weak.

To support this, I have three warrants, each independent of the next. You can attack one, but the argument only falls down when you attack all of them.

This is how argumentation works. If you really want I can get my argumentation textbook out and quote you word for word how this goes.

if I say "Today is a good day!" - claim "because I'm happy!" - Warrant 1 "and it's snowing!" - Warrant 2

Saying "It's not snowing!" - rebuttal to Warrant 2

Does not make it not a good day, because Warrant 1 still backs the claim.

Do you understand?

It's not always "two sides on every coin" situation. That's because I don't really disagree with your other points. Are you that stubborn? Since you like to make favourable situations, how about this one:

A: I like apples, which are tasty because it's sweet and salty. B: Yes, it's sweet and tasty, but it isn't not salty at all.

It's very simple, right? I didn't even say Zed wasn't OP. However, you created my stance out of nowhere, then proceed to attack me for this imagination.

Because he is hard to play.

Inb4 downvotes.

Cuz people who don't know him will still play him if not banned lol

Zed has to all in. And he's squishy. This makes his lategame very difficult. If you pick Anivia or Ahri, you can always be useful from a distance.

Champions like Annie have just as much burst as Zed, but it's safer, and is AoE.

Zed isn't actually more powerful than these other champs. He just feels powerful, because he does lots of single target burst. Throughout League history, single target burst is probably the most over-valued feature, in solo queue.

BewareTheDragon11 votes

The thing is, a zed all-in isn't really an all-in. Zed always has a backup shadow in order to get out.

Gank in Progress1 votes

because people suck at him

TotalJerk1 votes

Since he's so incredibly popular, everybody is used to playing against him. Same reason all of the most picked champions tend to have sub 50 winrates.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Zed's kit has been so overloaded that people hate playing against him (high ban rate) love playing as him (high pick rate) and has been undertuned (low win rate). if you take balance to be 50% winrate then zed needs buffs, but that would only be more frustrating to play against and this creates the problem of zed, lee sin, etc.... many champions who get lots of hate threads made about them share these three rates and most of them have what are considered to be overloaded kits.

imo these show how badly he needs a rework.

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

i can answer that question realy easy

winrate was alwas the domain of aoe champions and riots ballancing is to blame aoe champs are usualy able to compete in burst dmg with assasin while also hitting some additional stuff on the other hand assasins are picked more often because they can decimmate any sqquish fast before he actualy deals it

so i think that it only applies to soloq and pro scene wont see the similar effect

Gunpoint1 votes

Beyond killing people, he doesn't really help the team, these are reasons why often times champions like Rammus, who have great zoning and peeling potential in team fights boast high win rates. it takes more than 1 person to do well for an entire team to win, and that's not just kdr.

Rimora1 votes

From what I've seen, it's because Zed often doesn't contribute very much to his team even if he gets fed.

The attack speed nerf hit him so hard his win rate plummeted.

/sarcasm

It has gone down by 1-2% from the data that we have so far since the patch hit. Not much but at this point still more significant than what people thought would come from it which was nothing.

lol attack speed nerf on a champion that is AD based will always be significant. That's like making cooldowns longer for a caster and thinking that nothing will change.

People who think aspd has nothing to do with Zed's damage have never played Zed.

When people hear a champ is OP, they play them. They aren't instantly good with the champ though, every champ has a learning curve. As much as i hate to say it, Zed does take SOME skill, like aiming Q :P People just see those Faker-esque plays and think they can do that without practice.

Chespin20131 votes

cuz he's banned most of the time cuz ppl cant trust others not to feed him

LaserDeathBlade1 votes

Because he actually sucks and statistically isn't even a Tier-1 mid laner

But hell, when did statistics ever sway GD's opinion. Zed being able to get kills without getting killed is OP because kills are what this game is about.
