Need Help Learning Unlocked Camera

Ive been playing league for about 10 months now and just started getting into ranked, ive been playing soloqueue for about a 3 days now and have climbed up to silver 4 pretty fast, i know that playing with locked camera is bad but it just feels really awkward for me to play with in unlocked during the laning phase, i always switch to unlocked to see whats going on around the map like to check baron and and to look at other lanes but i just dont know how to play with on. I have the lock/unlock button on my mouse to try to make it a little easier also and i think this helps alot. I just want to know when should you have the camera locked vs when should you have it unlocked? It comes so naturally to everyone i guess im just a little different, is there any major tips you guys could give me for learning how to play the correct way? :^)

(ps i have 1000+ normals this season and they have all been with locked camera.)

For me, I had experience with RTS games, so unlocked camera felt better.

I know that standard key bind lets you move around screen by holding mouse 3 button, and that might be easier than moving your cursor to the edge of screen.

You'll just have to play more games in order to get used to it (and not ranked ones).

Also a little tip is that spacebar centers the camera on your champion, and as long as you hold it, its in locked screen. Do this to quickly get to where you are or to get yourself recentered

I would suggest torrenting original starcraft or broodwar. After a few games of that u will get the hang of it. Also try turning down the mouse and screen move speeds in settings.

If you really want to adept to unlock camera you really should put that lock/unlock button on a not easy to access key. So you would force yourself to get used to it. Habit need to be forced. By the way, I think there is a setting where is semi-lock camera, it kinda locks on to your champion, but let you drag the camera away from him if you mouse over the edge. Not a 100% sure since I don't use it, but I think I remember seeing it in some older patch notes. Hope this helps.
