Calling out Riot's hypocrisy on "Not defining the meta" and "Encouraging new ideas"
The video and its content says it all. A player trying to innovate and actually accumulating some decent success by getting into PLATINUM with their method is being threatened because they're choosing not to adhere to other people's whims? Because, god forbid, I have an idea that is statistically proven to work more often than fail, and despite COMMUNICATING that with my team, I get reported anyway because I don't want to be enslaved by someone else's preferences for what a support should or should not do for their team.
This is a game, and while having a competitive nature to its design, unless it's pro play, NO PLAYER SHOULD BE CONDEMNED FOR INNOVATION. We're not paid to play this game like the pros. We don't lose or gain anything outside of the game (except patience, which tbh, the player base desperately needs other than a firm backhand for being control freaks). It's a game that's free to play and last I checked, a game you can get creative with provided your behavior doesn't include flaming, intentional feeding, or trolling your team. Which this player, as far as I'm aware, did NONE of. And you're going to permaban them?
Real talk; as a support main, I commend AdellaideSkyhart for getting creative and using a champion's strengths in a way that helps their ENTIRE team (not just a selfish ADC player who can't handle a little pressure for like 1 minute). The support role is a boring mantle to take up, requiring you to apparently do whatever 4 other people in your game and a Gaming company tell you do. Mindlessly babysit in lane, then get flamed or blamed for dying or making a mistake, or not doing exactly what your adc wants.
In the words of
"Comfort breeds weakness." And
"Change is good."
As a player who originally signed up for this game with wanting to have fun, and maining the support role for four years, I am disgusted to such a degree that I'm moved to actually ask only 10 minutes of Riot's time to explain themselves, IN DETAIL, about what AdellaideSkyhart's "behavior" is actually doing to negatively impact the community and how they expect the playerbase to branch out and get creative with breaking the meta if all it will do is get them reported for exactly that reason to the point of being potentially permabanned. If being successfully unconventional means it'll only get me reported unless I'm 100% successful (a statistically impossible feat in this game), then to that end, it is IMPOSSIBLE to play this game. Why? Because you can get reported by anyone for literally ANYTHING, kind of like getting sued.
