Calling out Riot's hypocrisy on "Not defining the meta" and "Encouraging new ideas"

The video and its content says it all. A player trying to innovate and actually accumulating some decent success by getting into PLATINUM with their method is being threatened because they're choosing not to adhere to other people's whims? Because, god forbid, I have an idea that is statistically proven to work more often than fail, and despite COMMUNICATING that with my team, I get reported anyway because I don't want to be enslaved by someone else's preferences for what a support should or should not do for their team.

This is a game, and while having a competitive nature to its design, unless it's pro play, NO PLAYER SHOULD BE CONDEMNED FOR INNOVATION. We're not paid to play this game like the pros. We don't lose or gain anything outside of the game (except patience, which tbh, the player base desperately needs other than a firm backhand for being control freaks). It's a game that's free to play and last I checked, a game you can get creative with provided your behavior doesn't include flaming, intentional feeding, or trolling your team. Which this player, as far as I'm aware, did NONE of. And you're going to permaban them?

Real talk; as a support main, I commend AdellaideSkyhart for getting creative and using a champion's strengths in a way that helps their ENTIRE team (not just a selfish ADC player who can't handle a little pressure for like 1 minute). The support role is a boring mantle to take up, requiring you to apparently do whatever 4 other people in your game and a Gaming company tell you do. Mindlessly babysit in lane, then get flamed or blamed for dying or making a mistake, or not doing exactly what your adc wants.

In the words of Rengar "Comfort breeds weakness." And Khazix "Change is good."

As a player who originally signed up for this game with wanting to have fun, and maining the support role for four years, I am disgusted to such a degree that I'm moved to actually ask only 10 minutes of Riot's time to explain themselves, IN DETAIL, about what AdellaideSkyhart's "behavior" is actually doing to negatively impact the community and how they expect the playerbase to branch out and get creative with breaking the meta if all it will do is get them reported for exactly that reason to the point of being potentially permabanned. If being successfully unconventional means it'll only get me reported unless I'm 100% successful (a statistically impossible feat in this game), then to that end, it is IMPOSSIBLE to play this game. Why? Because you can get reported by anyone for literally ANYTHING, kind of like getting sued.

It is so annoying that there are still people talking about this.

To consider this as Riot banning someone for "playing off-meta" shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation that occurred.

This player has been banned for refusing to cooperate with his team. He has tilted and negatively affected his team time and time again and he obviously doesn't care. His "Support Singed" winrate is 37% and it likely is not because of the role itself but rather the continuous negativity and refusal he brings into his games consistently.

He deserves the ban he got, which again has NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS PICK.

I don't know about a permaban, however this player has the ability to win far more than 37% of his games as is apparent if you look at his top lane singed for instance. But again, keep in mind that if you think he is getting banned for his pick and not his behavior, then you are simply wrong.

The problem isn't that Support Singed isn't being allowed, because it is. The problem is that every game you have to have 1 Top laner, 1 Jungle, 1 Mid, 1 ADC, and 1 Support. This is what Riot is enforcing. So what if you communicate. So what if you're duo with the ADC and they are fine with having something other than a Support in game. Riot's message gave no room for experimentation in this regard without having a full premade.

I really hope Riot sees the actual problem here, rather than what all the whiny band wagoners are complaining about.

There's 50 thousand of these threads already. Why do people feel the need to make a new one?

People didn't even watch the video. He copy pastes exactly what he's going to do in pre-game chat. He definitely does communicate, and he comes to support after he messes up the junglers early clear. :/

People just report him after the game to vent anger.

there are thousands of threads relating to this issue, nearly every one is downvoted and everyone in the comments explains what ignorant people who only use a single random video as a source don't know about the situation

I'm tired of explaining how this guy was effectively queuing as a support for shorter queue times and became a forced 2nd jungler. or how his win rate is from climbing through bronze/silver and how he only started supporting in plat, where he had like a 44% win ratio and dropped reallll fast. The dude deserved the threat and his real ban
