Reporting people in champ select

Zippy The G··27 votes·4,665 views

So recently I fell victim of having to deal with a duo in queue who locked in Mundo ADC and Garen support. This was ok if they didn't ban 2 of our champs that we were going to play. To make things worse these people took ghost and tp. So my options were to take the L or take a ban. Obviously i took the ban but i shouldn't have to because this is the worst thing i've had to deal with in forever. Hopefully we can add a champ select report system/kick so that people like me don't have to deal with an actual Mundo adc and Garenn support. Rito please help :c btw this is gold elo

Absolutely fucking ridiculous that we're 10 years into this game and control of whether or not the game will operate normally and not be a shitty trollfest is still in the hands of the offenders. THEY decide whether or not you have a good game, and there is literally no way to stop them from losing you LP, and even reporting them does fucking nothing because the current system is too chickenshit to ban the one person who got reported by 4 people from his team and 3-4 from the other team. I'm disappointed with how Riot has handled this

you have to remember people who are incredibly toxic don't care about reports or bans we have lots of accounts.

They need to charge 10$ for the game.

Get your account banned means you have to pay 10$ or not play.

Would fix SOOO much of the Scripter/Trolls/Smurfs

Or you know, IP ban people.

programs already exist that mask your ip address. meaning some people do not have an ip address to ban. ip ban would actually work as most scripters are dumbasses in general. trolls, nope they would proxy/mirror and have no life.

Such solutions would give you enormous amounts of lag. Free solutions anyway.

THAT IS INCORRECT. you may change your ip address directly on your computer.

FioraWillCarry1 votes

Now that is incorrect. What you're actually changing is the PC's IP address, which is the private IP that sits behind NAT, which is basically a wall between your internal network and the internet. Outside of your private network, all public network interfaces see your public IP address which is usually assigned by a DHCP that's maintained by your ISP. You have very little to no control over that. The most common way that we as users can control this is through proxies. And if you've ever used free proxies, you'd know they are dog shit slow. VPNs are another way to hide your IP and I'd wager free ones would be slow as well. There might be very high quality VPNs that you can pay for but I can't speak to that with any certainty as I've never tried any.

If you're using Windows. Run ipconfig and you's see your PC's IP address. If you want to see your public address, google things like "whats my ip" and you'd get your public IP, the one that the internet sees. You'd notice that the IP addresses are different if you sit behind a router. If you're plugged directly into the internet, your PC will be assigned a public address directly.

the information is quite literally available directly through google.

How do you change your external IP address? Turn off your cable/DSL modem for 1 day, the lease should expire and you will get a new IP, that's how DHCP works. 2. Start -> Run -> ipconfig /all, copy down IP, Subnet Mask, Defaut Gateway and DNS now head to TCP/IP properties, change to manual from automatic and fill in the blanks.

I don't need to Google anything this simple. I do this for a living.

Again, you don't seem to understand. The IP address assigned by the ISP's DHCP is on your router's WAN interface. Your router also has a DCHP which is not what I'm talking about. The router's DHCP assigns a private IP address. This private IP address is unknown to internet sites. The internet only sees your public IP, the WAN IP on your router assigned by your ISP.

to be honest i really do not care. if i were somebody with an IP ban i would figure out a way around it anyway.

simply change ISP. -edit -even router- -even modem-

IP Bans are the worst attempt at a solution. They're so easy to get around. Also, for places like College Dorms that share IP groups, the splash damage of banning literally every other student there exists.

Then the IP or IGN that is banned should be cited on the report and the kid should catch the flak for it. This is what these kind of punishments are meant for. If the punishment itself doesn't fix it, force society to do it for you.

Great idea then that pre-made can kick you instead of picking shitty champs.. or they can report you for picking a regular champ. Just dodge. Or play and ask the other side to report. If you make a good case the other side will report with you. If the enemy tram has trolls I can see it we all know what we are looking at and I just report them after the game. I get the messages all the time saying my reports resulted in action against a player.

SanKakU1 votes

How about you report them after you lose like everyone else does? Right now the Nunu support thing is fresh on people's minds. Being able to report people in champ select would basically mean that no one is safe from the brats that report because they don't like some champion or another.

AFatDrugDealer1 votes

The problem to this is in those tenser ranked lobbies there can be entire teams/premades that gang up against one guy in champ select because they don't like his pick - it would be too easy to abuse.
