TL;DR : Kat is the ONLY champ with a targeted blink ability (E. shunpo) that resets (P. Voracity). Riot will HAVE to [change / balance / nerf ] this to be consistent with the **"pillar of our design of design values," COUNTERPLAY. **(As stated by **MORELLO **in Dev Blog: The Design Values of League of Legends)...............I recommend the balance team make changes to Katarina that are similar to those Master Yi experienced in patch 3.10a.

i was recently in a match where a katarina was able to kill my teammate with her full combo in about 1 second. Katarina was then able to take IMMEDIATELY use her E ( a blink ability) shunpo to now reach me. she solo 100-0 killed me in a death recap recorded .6 seconds. she kill 2 opponents with full health in 2 separate locations in less than 2 seconds. Naturally, this really got frustrated. Im not bothered by an assassin (fed Katarina or any other) killing me or my team mates. thats the game and thats what they do. the problem was not having a window to retaliate / Avenge my teammate. EVEN FED, No other assassin or any other champion with a blink ability can accomplish killing 2 enemy champs, 700 units apart, in that time frame.

Under Teamplay it says "No victory is won alone. Players need to rely on teammates " AND under Meaningful Choices it says " If it's a no-brainer, it's not interesting." if you can back to back blink faceroll delete one enemy after another by yourself. why wouldn't you? But is this a part of the healthy competitive gameplay Riot is striving for ? (Riot staff, if you are not sure of the answer to that question, then go ahead look at the pentakill statistics )

in Patch 3.10a Master Yi received balance changes in his kit under this context

... we soon identified the need to reduce his power, we wanted to do it in an intelligent way that created windows of opportunity for both Yi and his opponents, rather than by simply reducing his overall damage. We like Highlander’s reset mechanic, but the flat second reduction on it meant that solid Yi players could effectively chain Alpha Strikes together with no window of vulnerability after scoring a kill. ...

I believe that Katarina is in a similar place in right now for the same reasons as master Yi was then. I also believe that **similar **changes will create healthier gameplay for katarina and her opponents. by reinforcing the gameplay values of Meaningful Choices, Counterplay, and Teamplay.

I see where your going with this but no. For one as a katarina main for years I can say this, any cc and good teamwork can shut down a katarina. Wards shut down katarina. Her full kit as an assassin is perfectly fine, its who she is. If you really have a problem with katarina know how to use cc against her and shut her down early. Know when she uses her e, know when she uses her flash, know when she leaves the lane. She is a very risk/reward type of champ that needs to stay as she is atm. Especially since dfg got removed her power spike has went down a bit. So her overall kit has been weakened a bit. And also the uprising of cc champions like azir, braum, malphite, sion, ext. If you have a problem with her then ban her in ranked or drafts. Don't want to see a fed katarina then know how to deal with her even when she is your counter. That's what it means to be a good player. To counter your counter by teamwork and plays.

OP died 8 times and got 172 CS in 36 minutes as an ADC. Katarina was level 18 with a full build, you were only level 15 with a partial build.

Katarina is fine, this is a user error.

I think Riot should make E of Katarina become a dash. This will be more acceptable and not really harm anyone. Think about what E bring to her : A dmg dealing, a blink, and a defensive option (reduce 15% dmg, if anyone didnt know) at a significant low cooldown (12 / 10.5 / 9 / 7.5 / 6). It will be very ridiculous if somethings bring big advantage with very cheap cost, isnt it? Especially when compare with her brother, Talon. His vital skill E is nerfed terribly, and all feel its k, just because he was "cannot be counter".

In all honesty, from a Katarina player. Make the damage reduction for shunpo only apply on allied units. Then when she is using it as an in she isn't as oppressive. No longer allow bouncing blades to proc their own marks through reseting and throwing a second one to apply new marks.

Whether you want to accept it or not, a channelling ult is a form of counterplay. It requires Katarina to be in position and to remain uninterrupted for 2.5 seconds. That's a long time in game terms. Either you don't have any interrupts (which, actually, is rather difficult to do with the current roster, so you almot have to try to avoid them) or you used them already and don't have them available - in which case your own window of safety is down and she is using it. And sure, she might be the only champion with, technically, a reset blink but consider the following:

Kha'zix can leap in, and if he gets a kill, can leap out. And evolved leap has a huge range.

Tristana's jump resets on a kill.

Most other assassin's "kill window" is actually shorter than Kat's initial window. Her window only gets that small because you're taking her multi-target damage from her Q/W/R while she was killing your teammates, so once she gets rolling you're already low. Assassins like Zed are pretty much guaranteed their first kill within a very short timeframe, but they don't have the same kind of follow up as Katarina.

But seriously, any Kat will tell you that coordination (either on her team, or her enemies) completely defines whether she is useful or not in a teamfight.

The only value Riot has is money.

Make pretty skins, sell to Asian market, make money.

There is no customer service, no IT expertise, and frankly, no desire to change.

Riot is selling out and trying to make as much money as possible before it all comes crashing down in the next few months.
