Why is the community so toxic and messed up?

I have seen this many times where the person who's complaining and salting does not get in trouble but the guy who slightly fed kills in the beginning and ends up carrying the whole team. Let's say person 1 was the one who "fed" and person 2 was the one who was being a douche. Person 2 ends up talking about the person's family and talks about "doing" person 1's mother. Then person 2 gets on person 1's nerves and pisses off that guy. Where he simply tells the guy to stop talking about their family like that in a more but less rude tone than person 2. Then toxic person 2 ends up saying report the guy who barely fed 2-3 kills but is carrying very hard right there. Then out of the 3 people they end up just taking what person 2 said, report. I tend to ask, why are they reporting that person? They all say: "He's being toxic and fed?" I looked at all their score and he was 9-10/3 from dying the first 3 times. The person who was "fed" 3 kills was not roaming around so nobody had a problem with him except person 2 who was feeding him now because he was doing dumb ganks as jungler. What is wrong with this community's toxicity?

There are toxic people in every game, but MOBAs are the most toxic genre in the world. DOTA, League, Smite, Paragon. They all have a lot of toxicity. It comes with the territory.

Pretty much this, I've been playing StarCraft 2 in 1v1 and its generally good mannered. The very few 2v2s that i have played generallly someone is flaming their ally in all chat that they sucked.

Basically, if the game has anything to do with teamwork, expect more toxicity.

Its not to say there arent really friendly team games. Ive played quite a bit of CSGO and can count the bad experiences on 1 hand.

MOBAs have very immature player bases. And hey. I used to be one of them. Games like Starcraft and CS have more mature playerbases. Hell even Overwatch. Starcraft has a certain Respect to it. CS has a mature playerbase. Id say over 70% of the players on voice sound like they are in their 20s. And OW is very similar (I cant speak for all of OW just high gold and Plat).

So i wouldnt say that more teamwork = more toxicity, but I can definately see an argument for it.

I mean, i played CSGO as well, but im trash at it so i got flamed.. But in that game you can just kick someone who sucks, so the need to flame isn't really there. I'd say Dota 2 wasn't as toxic as league, but i also know that the rules for league's toxicity is way more strict.. which, to me, makes people feel entitled to be treated like a king/queen, and when they arn't they report. In games where the rules arn't as strict, people don't bitch as much. At least that is wut i've found in my experience.

I like to think it all has to do with the way people handle defeat and criticism. Games like this attract people who not just want to win, but want to do so in ways that dominate/humiliate opponents (the game itself doing no favors by the announcer literally shouting every time someone secures a kill streak). When they don't get that, they'll often blame everyone/thing else, the weirdest excuse I've heard being when my jungler blamed his lamp for causing a "sunglare" effect on his screen, having him miss a ward and die in the middle of 4 enemies.

Games are toxic because ppl feel that moral and social rules dont apply. Especially for ppl who are not to the norm with social and moral rules. Example being of someone saying that cussing out a teammate and talking crp about them is not a bannable offence as opposed to someone feeding in a game to much. Also take into account all of the ppl who would rather spend hours playing league as oppsed to doing other things and how many of those ppl are the cnts that many of us do not like.
