Even though redemption has been repeatedly claimed as a broken item how come I'm seeing more mage supports than ever?
And what's the deal with people taking Malzahar and Vel'koz bot lane to support?
Lastly someone told me Braum has been nerfed hard post-worlds. I started getting back into game recently and got the Santa Braum skin so if he was hit by the nerf bat what were the nerfs and in what state is he now? Thanks for the response.
Vel'koz has always been a support, malzahar is just because meta is currently flailing like a (boosted) monkey.
Mage supports are the supports that people flock to when they get filled, and would have rather played a carry.
Mage supports like Brand, Zyra, and Malz effectively become a second carry, in exchange for the utility that they give up when not playing an enchanter. (Though they should still be warding with Eye of the watchers)
I think Braum is indirectly nerfed as a result of redemption favoring Enchanters. Though Taric as a warden has probably fared better as sustain is part of his kit.
