Deploy Notes - March 18 - Trading Support

Hey everyone,

We deployed a new build to Fantasy LCS today that includes an initial release of trading. Here's the high-level summary on what's changed:

• Add/Drop has been renamed to Trade. It now includes all other players - both free agents and those owned by others.
• You can initiate a trade with another player from this screen.
• A new tab has been added called Pending Trades where you can monitor and manage the status of incoming and outgoing trades.

The trading functionality is basic at the moment, with more functionality planned for the future (for example, currently, you can only trade 1 for 1 and there aren't any built-in e-mail notifications), but we wanted to gauge feedback on this initial release for the last two weeks of the season.

Please let us know your feedback as you use the new trading feature. What do you like? What do you dislike? What's missing that's important?

Detailed instructions on how to trade:

  1. To send a trade request to someone, find the player you want to trade for in the Propose Trade screen. Click the player you want to offer and the player you want to acquire and propose the trade. We've added a new option to filter by owners to help you find the player you want.

You can also send multiple trades involving the same player, so if you want to shop around a dud on your team, feel free to do so.

  1. Once you send the request, the trade will appear in your Pending Trades tab. This page allows you to manage your trades: a. You can cancel or decline a trade at any time by clicking on the X on the right-hand side. b. Once you receive a trade request, you can compare the two players and their stats by clicking on the compare icon on the left.

  2. To finalize a trade the other party must accept it and you must confirm it. a. If the trade would result in an ineligible roster (for example, you would have 3 ADCs), you'll be prompted to modify your roster before finalizing the trade. b. If EU rosters are locked and the trade involves an NA starter for an EU starter, you won't be able to finalize the trade until EU starters unlock again for the following week.

Any word on waiver wire implementation for the next split???

Good option to have, though I'd have liked it to come with the ability to veto as well. Especially this late into the season, I can see people trading their friends Bjergsen for Keane or something else stupid because fuck it. My team is out. May as well help my buddy win.

Very happy with the trade option. One thing I noticed right away is that my roster is organized by lane (top, jungle, mid, etc.) but theirs is organized by points. I would prefer if their roster was also organized by position so I can quickly compare my players to theirs.

I have one more suggestion. I don't know if there is a place for Fantasy LCS suggestions but it fits a little bit with the trade option. I am usually planning my roster out a week ahead of time. Right now (a day before week 8) I am planning my week 9 roster already. I want to play certain players in week 8 but drop them for week 9. I understand why that isn't doable before week 8 starts, but once EU roster locks for week 8 would it be possible to then change my EU players and plan for week 9? If nothing else, it would be awesome if each week had a blank planning board and we could fill each slot with who we'd like to put in that week. This would just serve as a way to remember what we were thinking at the time, and be able to come back to it later.

Definitely needs more up front notifications. Just having it in the pendings tab of the Trades isn't enough, especially for someone that isn't actively seeking a trade at the moment. Front Page notification, and possibly some other out of band might be nice.

I hope you keep "free agents" in a separate section. The trade section seems kind-of messy and cramped. Also the trade section feels too cramped in general. I wish it was more spacious as I do not have to scroll multiple times to go down only a few players. Another different suggestion would be to make the chat more interactive and post it on the front page of the league. It's as if I have to navigate to a narrow corner of the site to talk trash.

Yes! I was just adding and dropping players and was getting internal errors and it kept saying the add/drop didn't exist. Now I know why, and thank you Riot for adding something I've been hoping for for a while.

OMG RIOT noticed me. Anyway thanks for adding the trading system. Now it is more like a fantasy.

Ever since the update, one of my leagues has removed the support role from my roster. The other 2 of my 3 leagues is fine. Any tips?

For week 7 my points for CLG getting a win didn't go through. I was .5 points below my opponent as the game ended because Link nexus dived, but they won so I would have gotten more points than them. But it still shows me as .5 pts below him, and I've been credited with a loss. This would have let me get full possession of 1st place, so I'm a little bit salty about this. The League name is Poro Chat and my team name is Unicorns of Love.

In my opinion the most important functionality to add at the moment is to e-mail owners when they have a trade request. Sometimes people don't check on their team for days, and I could see them missing trade requests even if they did.
