The constant yelling, violence, and fornicating of the uneducated masses persists in interrupting my research. I barely dare to think that humanity itself works against me. It that is to be the case, then so be it. If humane nature is my foe, then it is the very mind of man I must assault.

Journal Entry #18 A breakthrough! The answer lay in my previous research the whole time, I simple was too blind to see it! The natural thoughts and emotions of the human mind can be influenced by an electromagnetic charge. Even the uneducated refer to their various urges with both positive and negative connotations, how did I not realize this before! With an appropriately charged hextech magnet ... I have work to do!

Journal Entry #21 I have run out of test subjects, and the authorities refuse to supply me with more. Something about "wasting too many". I hardly see how their deaths could be considered my fault anyway. Clearly their plebeian minds were so flooded with their baser urges that when I pulled their negatively-charged thoughts from their head their remaining psyche was insufficient to support rational thought and left them gibbering madmen.

Perhaps that it is for the best that I am forced to experiment on myself. With my superior mind I have a greater control over my base instincts. Yes, I see now. I tried to fly before I had learned to even walk. It is best to start with smaller steps. Well, here's to success!

Journal Entry #? Oh yes. I don't recall ever stating the purpose of this journal. The purpose of a journal is, of course, to records one's thoughts. DESCRIPTION A Zaunite scientist of the "mad" variety (complete with lab coat), equipped with hex tech gauntlets and pack, all covered with tesla coils and electromagnets.

While above half health he is orderly and dignified. While below half health his hair becomes wild and unkempt and his gait changes to more of a stalk.

From a more mechanical viewpoint, Dr. Hykell is a mage that can probably fill in as a support if necessary. While at high health he is a decent poke mage with good disengage but poor wave clear. While at low health he abandons all of that for devastating AoE damage. A player who can manage the difference between these two states and take advantage of abrupt shifts from one to the other will go a long way.

ABILITIES

Magnetic Personality [Passive]

Dr. Hykell is positively charged while above 50% health and negatively charged while at or below 50% health. His abilities have different effects based on his charge at the time of cast.

While positively charged Dr. Hykell gains 5 mana regeneration and 400 attack range. While negatively charged Dr. Hykell gains 5 health regeneration, (5-45) attack damage, 20% attack speed, and 20 movement speed.

Nuanced Social Discourse [Q] Cost : 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana Cooldown : 6 seconds

Dr. Hykell uses his magnetic coils to generate an electric blast that inflicts 80 / 125 / 170 / 215 / 260 (+ 70% AP) magic damage on the target.

While positively charged, the attack is a very high speed 1000 range projectile that strikes the first enemy it hits. While negatively charged, the attack is a 600 range cone that strikes all enemies in the area.

Bipolar Projector [W] Cost : 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 mana Cooldown : 12 seconds

Dr. Hykell deploys a small device within 400 units that creates a magnetic field with a 300-unit radius around it. Enemies in the field have their movement speed reduced by 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50% and allies have their movement speed increased by the same amount. The device has six truth health and lasts four seconds.

While positively charged the device also attracts enemy projectiles that pass too close to it, causing them to strike the device instead of their intended target. While negatively charged the device inflicts 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 (+30% AP) magic damage per second to affected enemies.

Anger Management [E] Cooldown : 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 seconds

By manipulating the magnets used on himself Dr. Hykell can directly influence his mental state.

While positively charged, this ability costs 10% of Dr. Hykell's maximum health and restores 10% of his maximum mana While negatively charged, this ability costs 10% of Dr. Hykell's maximum mana and restores 10% of his maximum health.

Electromagnetic Overload [R] Cost : 100 / 125 / 150 mana Cooldown : 120 / 105 / 90 seconds

Sending a surge of energy through his suit's coils, Dr. Hykell generates a massive burst of magnetic energy that inflicts 200 / 300 / 400 (+80% AP) magic damage and displaces all foes within 400 units.

While positively charged, enemies are knocked away from Dr. Hykell. While negatively charged, enemies are knocked towards Dr. Hykell.

SKIN IDEAS Gentleman Hykell How could you have a Jekyll and Hyde inspired champion and not have a gentleman skin? Traditional Victorian English dress, possible new voice-over lines (good spot for some more Jekyll and Hyde quotes), and monocles. Who doesn't love monocles?

Two-Faced Hykell Inspired by the Batman villain of the same name. One half is normal looking, the other half is demonic looking and has spikes instead of coils. Some new particles, but only while negatively charged.


Initial Post: Sorry it's so thread-bare at the moment. Just writing it all down so I don't forget any of it and to get people's initial reactions. Should have lore and numbers later tonight.

Ah yes, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde... never read it, but I really should :P I see that the extras and kit are still under construction, please remind me to come back here and look at it again when you're done! I really don't see much problems with his kit, very well balanced. Good job!
