You think you're safe, here? Even the trees will kill you, and that's if you're lucky.

###Lore

The Rune Wars devastated Valoran, leaving destruction and terror in their hellish wake, entire countries doomed to waste away within their rubbled homes. Fields turned to ash, and sand swept over the remains of a violent past. But death? There was only the birth of the greater evils that lurked within, the dark heart of Runeterra.

In a way, a simple seed was the vein of hope, fighting for a glimpse of the sun. There were no second chances, desperate to survive the young plant dug deeper, searching for anything to sustain its withered leaves. What it found was a world of power, arcane strength that soon flowed through every root and stem. With its newfound strength it found itself surpassing its submissive neighbors, and basking in the ethereal glow that it craved seemingly moments ago.

But there was a visceral force that gnawed within, there was more, it needed more. The fear had vanished, Kawpra knew there was nothing more to be had searching beneath the soil. With a violent uproot it severed all ties with its bewildered brethren, tasked with a ravaging hunger and a quest to sate it. The twisted magic it embraced carved maw and teeth from the brittle flesh, there was nothing that could escape what was undoubtedly the Kumungu Devil.

The height on its reign was spent alone, nothing would venture near Kawpra’s fearsome march save for those unfortunate enough to chance an encounter. There was a tinge of regret as it weaved through the jungle, an innocence that longed for a quiet life beneath the leaves, searching for a glimpse of the sun.

What it found was several robed figures bearing archaic runes on their sleeves, and a woman clad in leaves. Enraged it lashed towards the intruders, only to find his roots unwilling. Despite its fury the woman approached the creature and spoke in a sacred tongue long since known by man or beast. An ancient secret or a dire whisper, Kawpra could only retreat to the jungle floor from its furious perch, with what could only be described as a menacing grin.

###Kit

Passive: Spores

Every 15 seconds (5 seconds while taking damage) Kawpra releases spores in a 500 range around him, changing the effect of abilities that come into contact with them. These spores linger for 8 seconds in the area they were spawned, and are not consumed on ability interaction.

Q: Digest

Kawpra seizes an enemy champion in melee range, chewing/suppressing them for 1/1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds while dealing 60/100/140/180/220 (+.5 AP)(+.4 AD) Physical damage. During this time Enemies will be untargetable and Kawpra cannot move or attack.

If the enemy champion has recently come into contact with spores, then that champion is elegantly flavored, healing Kawpra for all damage done plus 20/30/40/50/60 health.

Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/11 seconds

Cost: 100 Mana

W: Toxic Vapor

*Kawpra spews a home-made gas that deals 10/30/50/70/90 (+ .2 AP) magic damage every second for 3/3/4/4/5 seconds. *

If spores are present in the area where Toxic Vapor is cast, then the gas is converted into a healing mist that heals Kawpra's allies for 5/15/25/35/45 (+.1 AP) per second for 3/3/4/4/5 seconds.

This does not heal himself.

Cooldown: 10/9/8//7/6 seconds

**Cost: **70/65/60/55/50 Mana

Range: 850

Cast time: 0.25 seconds

E: Bramble Roots

Kawpra forces his roots underground towards target location, dealing 80/110/140/170/200 (+.4 AP)* Magic damage**, knocking up any hit enemies for 1.5 seconds.*

If spores are present where the roots come up from the ground, then the roots instead turn into a brightly colored brush for 7/9/11/13/15 seconds and deal no damage.

Cooldown: 12 seconds

Cost: 60 Mana

Range: 850

Cast time: 1 second

Ultimate: Blossom Anchor

Kawpra plants himself in the ground, blasting Toxic Vapor in a 1000 range circle, and making a 500 range ring of Bramble Roots.

This lasts for 10 seconds, during this time Kawpra cannot move, but gains 20%/30%/40% damage reduction and has the range of Digest increased to 600.

Cooldown: 100/80/60 seconds

Cost: 100 Mana

###FAQ

What role is Kawpra?

Support.

So, how often can spores occur?

If Kawpra is taking constant damage, then spores will spring out every 5 seconds. If, per say, 7 seconds have past since his last spores, then Kawpra takes damage, he will release spores.

Are spores consumed on ability use?

No, they are not.

Explain Toxic Vapor's spore interaction.

If Toxic Vapor is cast, and no spores are around, then it will stay a toxic vapor. If spores are cast after Toxic Vapor, and they come into contact with the gas, it will stay a toxic vapor.

Only if spores are already present in the area that Toxic Vapor is cast will it turn into that relaxing spa-like mist. So soothing...

I am having trouble imagining what Blossom Anchor will look like.

http://i.imgur.com/5zWyx0J.png This is for demonstration purposes only, I do not claim to have any ownership or affiliation with the logo.

With that out of the way, Kawpra is the dot in the center, the ring is the Bramble Roots that are cast. http://i.imgur.com/BMz66nY.png This picture shows that the Toxic Vapors are spread everywhere!

I need some visuals for Bramble Roots and brushes!

No worries! http://i.imgur.com/FJFhVBu.png This is what the size of Bramble Roots will be, the brush will occupy that circle.

How can I tell the difference from in-game brushes and Kawpra's brush?

Kawpra's brushes are made of smaller, thinner grass blades and will be drastically brighter, like neon.

#Skins

Classic Kawpra: Kaw-Kaw, Kawpra of the jungle, watch out for that team! Sporting exotic colors, and a furious temper, and leafy foliage.

**Artic Flower Kawpra: **Can a flower survive in the Freljord? I say yes! Gets icey cool particle effects, a snowy cover, and an ice crusted brush. So cool!

Shurima Kawpra: Move over Sarlacc, there's a new desert plant with a fierce reputation, and it'll eat you for breakfast. Gets sanded roots, sandy gas, and a dried up and baked brush.

Deep Sea Kawpra: Terrors of the deep don't stray too close to either the surface or the ocean floor. Now gets seaweed brushes and a deep-sea ugly feel.

Void Flower Kawpra: Think the monsters are scary? Just wait till you see the local flora! Now gets void particles and a brush that quite frankly no ADC wants to enter...

Jesus, that art is terrifying.

Came for the awesome artwork. Stayed for the awesome champion. However, I think he does a bit too much damage for a support, and self heals aren't really as effective as an allied unit heal would be.

MeleeNuke7/16/2014, 3:13:01 AM1 votes

Definitely not a friendly flower to be around. I see this kit as a really stronk lane bully however Kaw has no escape or much cc so ganks are inevitable to be consistanly succesful against her.

A question about his q. If say you use it on the adc and instantly zhonyas would that end the snare and the adc would be spit out? Id say it should otherwise it would be ridiculous overpowered, but I just wanted to make sure thats what you had in mind. Also can it be cleansed? Since its a snare/suppression. The kit looks interesting and I really like the passive interaction im just looking at different counterplay options for the sake of balance. Also the interaction of his E and the spores creates a bush? Is there anything special about this bush? After looking at what you said the fact that it would do no damage makes me think i wouldnt want to use it on my spores unless this was like a camouflage kind of idea. Idk just kinda confused.

Voidzilla7/16/2014, 8:07:25 PM1 votes

I really like the idea of a Little Shop of Horrors-esque plant-Champion. Zyra and Maokai are good, but neither don't fulfill that classic venus flytrap archetype.

The kit is somewhat confusing; I'm not really clear on how the passive works (do the spores stick to Kawpra or remain in the area where he released them?) and the idea that they change effects so drastically seems like it would serve to be more confusing then rewarding. But maybe that's just me really.

I do think the ideas behind the individual abilities themselves are cool. It would make sense for a plant support to make brush in areas, plus that in itself is a unique mechanic that could be used for some interesting plays. The ultimate also seems pretty cool, and I almost feel it accomplishes what Maokai should've been; a more or less immobile tree that controls a large area around him.

And then the lore. The lore is short but sweet. It's an excellent way of exploring the Kumungu Jungles. There's a lot of room to flesh out an ecosystem there for a variety of creature Champions that don't all have to come from the Void.

Great work here. Digging this concept.

Cool concept. I always thought Riot could have pushed Zyra into a more monstrous plant champion, rather than just scantily-clad lady with vines.

The ultimate is very interesting to me. Am I right in my interpretation that Bramble Roots just pop out of the ground and knock up enemies at that moment, or do they behave more like a trap - waiting until an enemy steps on them, then inflicting the knock up? If it's the former, I think it would be really easy to whiff the knockup portion of the ultimate, due to the unique ring-shaped targeting. And that seems like the most important part of the ult - it's what keeps enemies in the gas and peels for your carry.

Also, about the Q - I think having the enemy untargetable while Kawpra chomps on them is a logical thing to do, since it's essentially a suppression, but it opens up the possibility for Kawpra to seriously screw up his teammates. If he times his Q poorly, his buddy Veigar's ult cancels mid-flight. That last Tower Shot says "nevermind." The friendly Ezreal's ultimate flights through them without dealing damage. (Also, if you Q during your ultimate, do they stop taking damage from the gas?) I'm not necessarily saying you should change it or keep it that way. Just something to think about.

Anyways, really nice work. Thanks for the plug.

I think this is interesting. The passive seems like an interesting take on Zyra's passive, Rise of the Thorns. However, I personally like this one better.

hachiman7/17/2014, 1:03:13 AM1 votes

Suppress is too long. Even though it makes the enemy untargetable, the 3 seconds at max rank can allow teammates to just stand next to the enemy and wait for the suppression to be over. Your teammates can just link hard CC with ease cause their just standing there. Also since suppression cannot be cleansed, its pretty much a gg if you get caught like that. You can make it a stun that lasts a bit less longer. This way, you at least have a chance to escape.

Shamont10/27/2014, 7:52:43 AM1 votes

his ult seems like a fortress, this guy is so awesome and so wel created. Also I think I accidentally drew a skin for void Kapra, I can send it to u if you want, somehow, i dont know how links work here

Shamont10/27/2014, 8:11:25 AM1 votes

reminds me of the Krudzu Hydra Plant from sonic, also I'm having a hard time figuring out wat lane Id play Kapra in. With all those healing abilities, no reliable harass or poke, and low mobility it seems, that he would not be that effective as a bot lane supp, for some reason I see him on top lane. I mean 2 of his abilities heal, and his main damage dealer, at least to me is his close range Q. I dont see how he could survive on bot with marksmen with good movement speed, I see him at his best on top lane. Please explain where he should go if Riot ever accepted him.

CrazedPorcupine10/27/2014, 8:12:41 PM1 votes

so I'm confused about his W interaction with spores, is the bush a wall like Trundle Pillar? Does it act like brush in that when you pass through it the enemy loses vision of you?

Shamont10/27/2014, 11:25:56 PM1 votes

ok i think i did it, this is just a random doodle when i was bored on a random sheet of paper a couple years ago

Shamont10/27/2014, 11:28:18 PM1 votes

so yeeaaah, thats my void Kawpra rite there, O_O, i cant really believe i drew that

Shamont10/28/2014, 2:02:37 AM1 votes

thanx, you can use it if you want, but youll probably want someone else to do the coloring. I dont do color :/

Shamont11/2/2014, 3:37:53 AM1 votes

wouldnt a Kawpra in a different skin cause his bush to have a different appearance? doesnt that defeat the purpose of the bush? champs on the enemy team would know that the bush was made by Kawpra and thus would ward it (can you ward a Kawpra Bush?) or steer clear, and be ready for a gank that they may see coming.

Rammus OK

Hey, I love your design and even used Fabulous Kawpra as an avatar on Skype before. Presently I'm using it again on other social networks such as tumblr, and I wanted to make sure that was okay with you as it's in a public space. While I'm at it, is it ok if I repost the art and attempt to spread the word?

I hope Kawpra makes it in! We need more plants and he's exactly desirable!

MarhsallLee677/16/2014, 2:48:32 AM1 votes

Even with melee range, 100 mana cost and a maximum 15 second cooldown, Q seems a bit too strong strong- it's basically what Fiddlesticks' fear would be like if it did damage, not to mention heal for insane amounts. The scaling of the duration or just keep how long it lasts the same at all ranks. I also feel like the heal should be 20/30/40/50/60 (+0.3 AP)- having it heal you for 100% of the damage you did could get you an enormous chunk of your hp back.

Where are the other skins? I voted fabulous cuz... It's fabulous!
