A macabre presence is felt among the Institute of War, The Harvester has finally chosen to reap the Fields of Justice.

What act of desperation brought it into plain sight can only mean a grisly future. ###Lore

An ageless, lifeless history drawn to a close, the apocalyptic birth of Valoran shattered what few barriers remained, drenching the infantile world with the blood the earth, and the breath of the sea. A land rich in its stupor, life would spread quickly, abundant in numbers and arcane in nature. Creatures of all shapes and sizes flourished under the swelling sun, free to pursue their leisurely pleasures. In truth, it was not entirely Valoran at that time, but instead a world in stasis, an egg waiting to hatch. The underlying shell shielded them from reality, but if one were to look closely, to see what they tried so hard to hide, one could find a blemish, a single crack in the wall.

It was more than a crack, it was a wound, reaching deep into the depths of an infinitely dark pit, reaching to what they had tried to hide. The pit ran far beyond the realm of the living, few could claim knowledge of how far it went; designed to trap not with chains, but an unsurmountable passage forward. Sentenced to an eternity of silence, what lay within rested squarely under the yoke of the highest authority. A creature as archaic as it is malicious gazed ever upward, a grin carved onto its dagger-crusted lips. Visceral dreams sat upon its ravaged tongue, corrupted thoughts danced on its teeth. It had waited eons for this moment, finally the open letter had arrived, an invitation it couldn’t refuse.

It was a feeling they had not felt before, it pierced their warm hearts and crept through their perfect bones. A stain had been cast over the horizon, malignant intent dripped from the magnificent crack in the sky. They gathered around for what shadowy figure fell from the burning heavens, truly it was a gift from the gods. But they knew better. What seeds have been planted sprouted suddenly as it lifted itself off the warm black soil. It surveyed the fields before it, mere children and infants scattered throughout, cold terror seized their legs. Had they no cause for fear? With a ravenous smile it approached, all eyes followed its looming steps.

It whispered silently into their ears, promising a future of stains and broken eggs. Golden rain fell onto the crimson hill, leaving behind a callous trail of hearts. A shadow cast in its wake, it vanished into the shroud of night, screams echoing off dejected trees. The Harvest has begun.

"Fear death, and you will die. Fear me, and I assure you it will be painless" -The Harvester

###Kit

#Passive: The Harvest

Killing a minion/jungle monster gives 4 stacks (up to 100) of Harvest, large/epic monsters and champions give 8 stacks. 1 Harvest stack decays every 2 seconds.

The Harvester gains 1 MS every 2 stacks, and 1% AS every 5 stacks, capping at 50 MS and 20% AS with 100 stacks.

#Q: Lacerate

Gnarr lacerates its prey with its claws, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 (100% AD) physical damage as well as gutting them, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 additional physical damage over 3 seconds. Further rending of the afflicted target with autoattacks or Lacerate allows the damage to stack further, up to 10 times (Max 100/200/300/400/500 damage over 3 seconds).

Applies on-hit effects.

Range: 125
Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4 seconds

#W: Malignant Presence

Passive: Attacks from the fog of war or stealth fear enemy target for 1 second. Cannot occur more than once per 5 seconds to each enemy unit.

Active: The Harvester fades into the shadows after 1 second, entering a psuedo-stealth for 5/6/7/8/9 seconds. During this time, it appears as a clearly visible shadowy fiend (shows up clearly on-screen), cannot be hit with targeted abilities and autoattacks, and is not seen on the minimap.

Standing still during this time halts the decay of the timer, allowing the duration to extend indefinitely. Cooldown begins after the move is over.

Cooldown: 30/25/20/15/10 seconds

#E: Gnom

Passive: Killing a unit grants 10/15/20/25/30 shield, stacking indefinitely.

Gnarr ravages an enemy unit with its teeth, dealing 70/130/190/250/310 (.8 Bonus AD) physical damage. If this ability kills target unit, The Harvester gains 2x shield for the kill.

Range: 125
Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds

#Ultimate: Reap

Gnarr lets out a blood curdling scream, fearing all enemies within 1000 range for 1/1.5/2 seconds while dealing 100/200/300 (+100% AP) magic damage.

Afterwards, Gnarr gains (1x/2x/3x) his passive bonus over again, while additionally allowing for Malignant Presence's passive to used regardless of vision. This lasts for 10 seconds while Harvest decays at 10 harvest over each second. Harvest gained in this form extends duration.

Malignant Presence cannot be cast during this time. During Reap the enemy team has complete vision of Gnarr until the instance is over.

Cooldown: 5 Seconds
Cost: 100 Harvest (Does not consume immediately)

###Description

The Harvester is all about about farming up for the ultimate, and then mowing down its enemies with a fervent delight. Build Paths are flexible, allowing for tanky, assassin, or bruiser builds to be utilized. Protip: Use its joke as a calling card whenever you counterjungle for maximum terror/mindgames.

I've always been drawn to the concept that is Gnarr, a creature similar to it haunted my dreams when I was a child,I always thought I could see it out of the corner of my eye, watching me from the shadows. The theme carried on in my life, my favorite pokemon was (and is) Lairon, who also looks strikingly similar.

When I noticed all these reaper concepts, they were all humanoid (aiming at demonic humans usually). I figured the best reaper archetype for league that doesn't exist already is a sadistic monster, who would gladly wait until the end of your days for the right moment to "collect" you.

###FAQ

So, explain Lacerate to me.

Lacerate applies a debuff to enemy target, this debuff does more damage the more times you attack the enemy during the debuff window, up to 10 times more damage.

What do you mean by psuedo-stealth?

Psuedo-stealth means you are clearly visible for the duration, but still acts like effective stealth (not seen on the mini-map ect.) Here is an example: http://i.imgur.com/jELjf6X.png

So, when Malignant Presence is activated, he is visible on your screen, but not your mini-map.

Wouldn't Gnom's shield be OP?

Lifesteal and regen do not increase shields, so jungle monsters won't help much in terms of farming up your shield in the long run outside of ganks. Therefore, you're going to want to farm minions, putting yourself at risk or in someone's way. Because Gnarr has no escapes and only a psuedo-stealth, he puts himself in great danger.

Why is the ultimate (Reap) on a 5 second cooldown?

Shyvana's ultimate is on a similar cooldown, because both require a full resource bar in order to be used.

Farmer Gnarr: The Harvester in blue overalls with a green shirt, donning a straw hat and a hay seed between its teeth.

Mire Gnarr: It came from the swamp...Now with weeds, mud, and murk.

Deep Void Gnarr: Even the void contains nightmares that lurk in the deepest reaches of infinity, beings that have long since forgotten the burning of light. Now Gnarr reaches from these depths, to seize what was rightfully his.

Molten Gnarr: On ultimate he explodes like a volcano, new particles and hot, magma look.

I love the abilities and how they fit in so well with Gnarr and his theme. I think you did a great job designing a champ that would be fun to play and truly make you feel like a dark force on the fields.

Just a couple notes, I'd be wary of people who will abuse abilities. I like the concept of Gnom, but imagining someone roamin teh junglez just stacking their shield and then flying out with like a shield for 2000 damage is scary. Perhaps you could put a max shield cap based on level, but leave everything else the same to keep the stacking mechanism because that is pretty neat!

Malignant Presence I think is my favorite ability, but being untargetable for 18 seconds seems a little much. Maybe try matching the stealth capabilities to something near Twitch's Ambush (stealth for 4/5/6/7/8 seconds).

Finally, I think Gnarr's ultimate seems to be a little weak in raw damage. For an AD champ, we can assume he won't be building a lot of AP, so if he has no AP, then he deals only 300 damage which is pretty laughable in the late game! Just some food for thought (pun intended).

Overall I like your champ =]

I wonder if your concept and the new Champion Gnar are connected...

MeleeNuke5/25/2014, 3:43:42 AM2 votes

Thresh Harvests souls too. Although his kit is nothing like his; I still feel they are strikingly similar. Good concept overall though.

fantastic concept, with a well thought-out and unified kit and character

I think it's pretty...

Gnarrly.

Gnarr has been updated to a higher standard of formatting for future viewers. Thank you for your feedback and appreciation.

I'd reword the passive a bit, something like "For every stack, you gain 0.5 movement speed and 0.2% bonus attack speed." Makes it clearer that you get partial bonuses when not at 100 stacks; otherwise the bonus goes on-and-off too easily.

I assume that by the Q, you mean that each autoattack or additional Lacerate extends the duration of the bleed by 1 second or refreshes the duration? That'd make more sense. Still, good skill.

W is not a good idea; Evelynn used to have a stun when she came out of stealth in the past, and that was deemed toxic. She'd just appear and instantly kill you without you being able to do anything unless you had Cleanse. Additionally, stealth has been severely toned back over the last few years. You should compare with Twitch, Shaco, etc, on how to make stealth effects.

E giving unlimited duration shields makes Mordekaiser's shield look like a joke. I suggest you give the shield a decay of some kind so that you don't get invincibility via farming. Getting extra shield by killing with the active, though, is good.

The ultimate sounds like it'd turn you into an unbeatable monster. Definitely needs to be toned back.

Good ideas, just extremely overpowered at the moment.

Oh my god.

Oh my god.

Oh my god.

SAAAVVVE MEEE GET IT AWAY GET IT AW- death gurgle

I like the stealth, however i think there should be a timer cap, regardless of wether or not he sits still. Like up to 18 seconds or until attacks, so he can move for 9, or sit still for 18, etc. I especially love the classis partial stealth mechanic, where it cannot be targeted, but AoE and skillshot abilities that don't require a specific target still work! And although i can see where your comin from lettin the shield stack indefinately, in higher up ranked play, like LCS, 200 farm means 6000 total damage to absorb. The ult will also rarely ever be used as its cost relies on a decaying passive that REQUIRES that you kill stuff to stack it. To kill 25 minions just to ult once IF it doesn't decay away before then? A little underpowered right there.

For his passive, i think it should be a permament stack, similar to thresh, where each single stack (one from minions, double on large minions, monsters, and champs!) gives a REALLY small amount of bonus MS and AS. Like if someone gets 213 farms and, say, 7 kills, they would get around 250 stacks, and this could be like 50 MS and 20% atck spd. Making his ult reliant on mana or a costless system similar to rengar.

BTW! Ive been trying to think of cool ways to rework fiddlesticks to make him more like a harbinger of fear than a killer scarecrow from outer magic space! So do you mind if i borrow some ideas from this kit? I really like his ultimate! (won't copy, but i wanna use something similar-ish)

Seems like this champion would fit well into the Darkin theme or the Void theme. I would like to see this champion played with a bit of change to the "pseudo-stealth" bit. You'd be hard pressed to gank someone when they can see you coming and you can't really slow them down.

I love the idea, much better than the Jeff the Killer rip-off I just read about.

10/10 would play

pimpmaster7/4/2014, 4:34:37 PM1 votes

i really like this idea... like a lot... lol

GAYFlSH7/11/2014, 8:12:29 AM1 votes

he sounds kinda like kha with that fear when not seen thing. i like this concept, i hope riot sees this and has a good look cause i think a champ like this could work as a jungle. but he does sound very op, but who cares

KingSmizzy7/11/2014, 8:55:40 AM1 votes

I like the idea of the champ except the W, fading into invisibility after 1 second and being untargettable, as well as halting the timer means introducing very toxic paly patterns into his kit. If he's ever ganked while in lane or found in the jungle he'd just go invisible and stand still till they give up and go away. The reason twitch had his invisibility delay increased to 6 seconds was to discourage his using his invisibility to just avoid every fight.

I feel like gnarr players might just use his W to troll.

molten gnar sounds like a good skin but molten wukong looks like he got sun burnt and then jumped into a pit of fire molten rammus looks like he got burnt and then someone shattered him with a hammer so to me the molten skins usually dont look too good

Yo @Flintfall. I'd love to do a colabo concept with you.

Schatteninseln7/12/2014, 4:53:03 AM1 votes

id get this champ flat out on release day, that being said i see some things that should be changed. First off i see Gnarr being in like yasuo and riven, a low cd bruiser/assassin. To fit more in this role, id change his E, gnom, for one, gnarr has only 2 damage abilities and his ult scales of AP making his kill potential pretty low for the role you want him to fill, also its a bit cheap to have an infinite shield, and its called gnom, when i hear that word i imagine one hell of a nasty bite, so I'm thinking a bite ability with also a low cd and moderate damage- Gnom- Gnarr bites single target dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (1.0 bonus damage per 1 AD) passive-When Gnom kills a target its heals Gnarr for 20/60/100/120/140 over 3 seconds. I feel this is more satisfying seeing your creaturss massive jaws, also reading your quotes hunger sustains me, and feel my hunger, and your creatures lore, this way his bite actually does sustain him by rejuvenating him.

Second-the psuedo invisiblity lasting forever is fine, as long as by pseudo you mean like the stealth boys in fallout, so more reflective than invisiblity cause otherwise thats gonna be like season 2 twitch. too strong.

Lastly my problem is mainly with his ult, i read read 300 damage isnt much, so why scale it with ap, i disagree, his ult passives give him plenty and 300 damage aoe is alot. The problem is with it giving and long aoe fear, 2 second fear on possibly everyone is ridiculously op, that like fiddle fearing everyone at same time, id have it last really only a second for all ranks like hecarims. Whats the point of buying a champ thats gonna get insta banned everygame.

Dicerson7/13/2014, 6:03:45 AM1 votes

Ohk, so i WAS gonna make a post on how a massive range 2 second disable was op, then i remembered, "Oh yeah, amumu's is the same range but its a 3 second stun!"

And then i was gonna go off on how an indefinite shield makes his laning unbeatable, then as i typed along i realized that it can be counterplayed quite easily..

You sir, have designed this champion ludicrously well....

I applaud you!

RITO PLZ!

Schatteninseln7/28/2014, 9:00:51 PM1 votes

seeing the champ preview thingy reminded me so much of this champion and the whole conversation we had, i gotta say bro, congrats, cause this had to have inspired the new champions in some ways. sniff, my boy all grown up, so proud of you, keep up the good work, if you need help balancing and adjusting your creations let me know.

saintshenanigans7/28/2014, 10:15:21 PM1 votes

I really hope they're using you idea, and not that other guy's Gnar the snowsworn... yours seems so much better designed and fun to play, while the other one is just silly and more snow.

Sir Chicken Wing7/29/2014, 12:04:49 AM1 votes

Was led here by the new champion approaching the league. I must say you've done some impressive work here. One thing I don't quite get, though, is the passive/ultimate. The ultimate costs 100 stacks (which is the cap), but 1 stack decays after 2 seconds, so basically, you have a 2 second time window to trigger your ultimate after you've made a creep kill, or is there some kind of mechanism to it?

Dicerson7/29/2014, 2:20:38 AM1 votes

BRO! BRO! YOU JUST GOT YOUR 'TOTALLY' ORIGINAL NAME NICKED BY RIOT!

YOU SO POPULAR!!!

vgNightCrusader7/29/2014, 4:13:04 AM1 votes

Sounds like a very good champ, however I believe that his W may need something like a decaying speed buff to truly make it useful. In my opinion it seems a little easy to avoid him while in stealth because you are still able to see him on your screen. Another reason i believe his W needs a slight speed buff is so that it is possible to maintain your stacks as you quickly roam to another lane. The idea of stacking both the shield and the harvest seems really cool, it'll be fun to learn how to play the stacking game effectively in lane. Other than that it seems like a great kit. Awesome work, awesome champ :)

AChanceOfReign1/14/2015, 8:25:13 PM1 votes

Hey I love this Champion Concept and I would LOVE to buy him and play him in the jungle! :D But I think you should change the because it's REALLY REALLY close to Gnar. I can come up with some names if that's alright with ya :D Edit: HIS NAME I mean, it's very close to the Gnar. I forgot about that one word >.

GottJaeger5/25/2014, 7:56:55 PM1 votes

This is an awesome idea, wish I was this creative. I like his varied build paths and rewarding kit. I would buy him on release (With Mire skin :P)

LilStacey875/26/2014, 9:15:41 PM1 votes

His "E" attack seems a little too strong to me, I like what it does though, just the rate it does it seems over powered a bit. Passive is pretty cool too.

Brody Biggu5/27/2014, 10:26:58 PM1 votes

I will be honest I did not real a lot of this, really I just read the abilities to see how they were, and well.... Fiddlesticks was finally being played in LCS because support players realized he has a 2.5 second(I think) fear for his Q, and now i am seeing this guy have a passive 3 second fear? This will never slide with riot, especially when you give him another fear that is aoe? Now i scrolled up to reread and see if I missed anything and his ult is 5 second cooldown? lolwhut? Again it seems like a good concept but CC is derp OP right now so 5 seconds worth of fears is probably not gonna happen on a cahmpion
