I'm Making a Student Documentary About League of Legends for my Film Class

As the title of the thread states, I am making a student film, a documentary, on League of Legends and the competitive scene and the general player base. As the main game I've been playing since around 2010-2012 up until today, and with a good amount of money and time invested into it, I felt it was one of the most appropriate topics for me to choose for this assignment.

I want to make it clear that my major is editing, not film making, but this is an assignment that must be done, so I want to get it done right. I want to set up proper interviews, even online ones, with proper cutting, music and all the other editing and film bits. You know, a good movie? That's where you all come in, hopefully.

A large part of any documentary involving a large community is getting that community's voice represented in your film in a way that doesn't put those things out of context. I am looking for as many players, competitors, designers, fanfiction writers, RIOTers, YouTubers, casuals, professionals and anyone else who even thinks about this game on a regular basis that are willing to answer some questions over a skype call (and don't mind that call being recorded), or perhaps fill out a survey.

I understand how sketchy this kind of ad can be, but rest assured, I have the proper release forms and such to make sure that your image isn't compromised and will even give you a personal screening of whatever parts of the film involve you before I consider it finished. If you feel that I am slandering you in any way, tell me and I will remove/fix that part.

It may just be an assignment for school, but I want to turn this simple assignment into a sort of passion project. A way for me to get in touch with the community at large and help to represent them in a way that isn't just another middle aged man or woman who has only ever picked up a gameboy color once and then tries to tell gamers what they want.

If you are interested in this in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me, either here, with my skype @ b0mm3r or hell, even kik @b0mm3r if that's really your thing.

I am also looking to use recorded footage of the game in the film, assuming that is okay by RIOT's standards. (No money will be made off of this film, that I can assure you of now. not by myself or my college.) Maybe your most hype play, or a spotlight of your favorite champion. One piece of footage in particular that I'd really like, is maybe just a clip of your voice: "Hello, my name is [you irl name and/or summoner name] and my favorite champion is [champion name]."

I know, this is all so cheesy, and this wall of text must be annoying, but if anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. And with worlds around the corner, my project will be due by then, but I'll most likely continue to work on it beyond that toe create the best fan-made representation of our community that I can. Showing that good and bad, the ups and downs, but most of all, showing just what a great game and community League of Legends has.

i support your choice, but at the same time, i have intense paranoia of recording devices so i am unable to assist, but good luck!
