Lore: Deep in the heart of the Shurima desert lay an ancient ruin untouched by man. The mystery of this untouched temple gave birth to tales of demons and ghosts that would possess anyone who dares to approach its ghastly walls. Some said this was the legendary city of Icathia while others claimed it nothing but a simple temple, forgotten years ago. To put these rumours to rest, a group of Zaunite archaeologists banded together and set out for the ancient Shurima ruins.

After several weeks, nothing was heard from the archeologists. Their scheduled return home never arrived. Weeks turned into months and months turned into years. By this time, everyone had moved on and the stories of the temple became even more real. However, no one could have expected what happened next. Two years after the disappearance, a single member of the team who perished reappeared. Yet, he did not return home. He instead stumbled to the League of Legends. Upon his arrival, several summoners took him in, questioning him as much as they could.

He told the summoners how his team examined the ruins for a few days. They found hundreds of hieroglyphs on the walls and floors of the temple. Each hieroglyph depicted a different event. However, most of them had the same godly being looking down from the skies. This being, illustrated as a being of pure light, was nicknamed the Light Bringer by the team. As their expedition brought them closer to the heart of the temple, the Light Bringer was shown to be more violent in the drawings: tearing people apart, creating vicious earthquakes and even eating those who worshiped it. Soon, the team entered some sort of altar room. It was a circular room with a large altar in the centre. The team noticed that the drawings on the walls around them showed people being sacrificed to this Light Bringer. They started searching for clues in the sacrifice room but this was soon interrupted when one of the members turned on them. He took an ancient dagger, pushed another team member onto the altar and impaled them what seemed like hundreds of times. Soon, the room became bright — brighter than the sun. They all felt immense heat bear down on their skin, searing their flesh. The surviving member quickly fled the temple, leaving the bloodcurdling cries of his comrades behind him.

The summoners stood by the man, speechless by his story. It was clear that whatever happened in the temple forever twisted this man’s mind. However, he kept repeating a single phrase. “We’ve brought the Light back. Meet its awesome power!”

Classic Skin

http://i.imgur.com/ST11sA2.jpg Purge Rakshadoth

http://i.imgur.com/vNpcmhT.jpg Nightmare Rakshadoth

  • His dance and the disco ball he creates in his /dance animation are a direct reference to classic 70’s dancing.
  • Rakshadoth is the first champion who does not actually “die” when slain.
  • His animation shows him turning into a ball of light before jetting into the sky. The ball is seen then returning to earth upon respawn, transforming into his normal form.
  • However, some speculate that Zed also cheats death as his death animation shows him falling into a portal, making Rakshadoth the second champion to cheat death if the case is true.
  • Despite his given title, Rakshadoth has no direct relation to the Lightbringer item.

Quotes:

  • Rakshadoth’s quote “Let there be light!” is a reference to the well-known quote from the Book of Genesis.

Skins:

  • Classic Rakshadoth as well as his lore make reference to the link between light and godly figures as he may be one himself.
  • Purge Rakshadoth closely resembles the Battlecast skins. However, most Battlecast skins have red in them, whereas Rakshadoth retains his yellow colour.
  • Nightmare Rakshadoth is a reference to Death. Both Death and Rakshadoth wish to claim the lives of the living.
  • Nightmare Rakshadoth also resembles the Nazgûl from The Lord of the Rings.

Cool Features:

  • When Raksadoth enters the area of The Prophecies, his character model glows.

Zed actually does not die when slain, at least not when turrets kill him. He actually evades the last bit of damage and steps into a portal, a shadow rift.

Very cool kit and i like the delay on his Q and E, i feel Fissure doesnt really fit the light theme as well as the others though, but thats just my opinion.

Him and Leona should have some special interactions :D

Dang man, that's some great lore. I like his kit as well, but the no cost/low cooldown ultimate might be potentially overpowered. Other than that, there's very little issues with him.

Hahahahaha, creepy pasta lore, I like you :P

Nice pictures, and I would give more feedback, but it appears I've been staring at it too long, luckily I can still beel the keys.

One quick thing, you might want to increase the duration you get AP when killing champions, because right now it's near useless.
