Welcome to another monday edition of Rito Towers. In this part, I introduce a neat feature that I think you guys will enjoy. The chamployees hold their semi-annual poker tournament. Now this is where you come in. You guys can affect the outcome of the next comic by voting in the poll. The goal: help Nocturne win the poker game. Use the info of the others playing to figure out what the best course of action is. If you succeed in helping Nocturne win the poker game, yay! I'll be using these next few comics to test the poll feature so let me know what you think. Also, help me get Rito Towers known in the community. I really appreciate the success the comics have gotten so far and I'd love to share my work with more of the community. Thanks to everyone for your support! With all that out of the way, enjoy part 7!

TF is a notorious card-sharp, but he also knows that Karthus is specifically watching him, so I doubt he'd cheat. Then again, he knows that he has that reputation, so he may well be capitalizing on it. Raising right off the bat like that might be intended to make his fellow players suspect that he's given himself a hand of four aces. And yes, I know that's impossible. Obviously, TF is no less likely than anyone else to have a good hand, but he's probably no more likely either. But the others at the table probably expect him to be likely to have a good hand, and if he's good at cards, he can capitalize on that. TF is probably bluffing.

Graves hates TF and is nearly as good of a card sharp, but I'm going to hazard that he isn't cheating here, if only because that would make this analysis far too hard. Besides, TF has already turned him in to the law before; if he cheats here, Graves may suspect TF would squeal to Karthus.

Noct's hand of three of a kind is good but not great, especially seeing as two of the three are in the river. He would lose to someone with the last three, or to a pair of any of the (non-three) cards in the river which would produce full house. Straights and flushes are impossible. Even though TF may be bluffing, there's still three opponents.

Mathematically, there's 990 (45 choose 2) possible hands for each of the remaining players. Of those, 42 hands with the 3D beat him. The hands 3D-2C and 3D-2D lose out, assuming suit order is SHCD. There's also three ways (3 choose 2) of getting a pair for each of the three other non-three cards in the river. Sorry for all the threes in that sentence. That's nine additional hands where he would lose. So, for each opponent, there's 51 hands out of a possible 990 where Noct wouldn't win. With three opponents, that's about an 85% chance of winning. The math is a little more complex than that, since the hands the others get aren't truly independent (since we're not dealing their hands with replacement), but I'd be surprised if the actual value is below 75%. So this three of a kind is pretty good after all!

What I'd need to know to decide what to do is if Graves checked before or after TF raised. I think TF is bluffing, but Graves would be able to figure that out. If he has a good hand, and he thinks TF is bluffing, he may well just check and let Noct and Quinn expose themselves. If Graves checked before TF raised, I'd probably also raise. If he checked after, I'd probably call.

Crap, and here I thought my utter ignorance of poker would go unnoticed in the League forums.....umm....ummm.....triple 3's is good right?

Id say go for it. The only way he could lose is if someone had a pair already in their hand and got a three pair from one of the cards in the river that matched. Which is possible but not likely.

3 of a kind is good, but not if there are 2 on the table and you only have 1. If someone had 3&7 they would win, and that's not a very good hand. A pair of 7's, a pair of kings, or even a pair of aces would all be better hands. Since the raise is only 4 (extremely minimal) I would probably stay in.

3-of-a-Kind is a pretty decent hand.
