I Know Sona is not going to get a rework for a while but I just thought of a few ideas that might work or not.

I never done this before so forgive me if this is not good or need to be work on a bit.

Sona – The Maven of the Strings Rework Concept.

Q - Hymm of Valor: Sona plays her Instrument,dealing magic damage up to 2 targets. The Targets that got hit will apply a slow of 20-30% of their movement speed for up to 3 sec.

Magic Damage 60/80/130/200/260 (Plus 60% of AP)

Power Chord – Staccato: If this spell was last cast when Power Chord is ready, Power Chord deals double damage.

Attack Damage and Ability Power 5/10/15/20/25

Ranged : 700 Mana Cost: 50/70/75/80/90 COOLDOWN: 8

W - Aria of Perservance : Sona Will heal herself and the ally of her choice. Granting both of them bonus armor and magic resist for 3 secs.

Heal: 30/40/60/90/120 (Plus 30% AP)

Armor & Magic Resist : 6/8/10/12/15

Aura Armor & Magic Resist : 6/8/10/12/15

Range: 1000 Cost: 50/60/65/70/75 COOLDOWN: 8

Power Chord – Diminuendo: If the spell was last cast when power chord is ready, Power Chord will also reduce the targets damage output by 20% (Plus 2% per 100 AP) for 3 sec. Will also have a 50% chance of reducing the enemy Magic resist and armor by 5 – 10 % for 3 sec .

E - Song of Celerity : Sona will grant any nearby Allies Movement speed that will last for 2 sec.

Persistent Aura : Sona plays the Song of Celerity granting nearby allied champion within 1000 range a flat movement speed bonus.

Movement speed: 5/8/10/12/15 (Plus 2% per 100 AP)

Flat Movement speed: 6/10/15/18/20

Ranged : 1000 Cost:70 COOLDOWN: 8

Power Chord – Tempo: If this spell was last cast when Power Chord is ready, Power Chord will have a chance of 50% to stun the target for 1 sec. If it will not stun the target it will slow the target instead for 40% of its movement speed (Plus 4% per 100 AP) for 2 sec.

R – Crescendo: Sona will play an irresistible chord in a line, making all enemies in it dance for 1.25 sec.

Nothing much I did with the ult just made the stun just a bit shorter and made all of her other abilities a bit stronger.

I thought of making her Q like a skill shot like maybe just giving her a bit more skill to play instead of just smashing ur keyboard most of the time.

I not sure if this will work or not since like I said this is my first time making a rework concept like this.

I think what sticks out most about this is that pair of "50% chance" effects on the W and E. Things that rely on probability are generally disliked. You'll note that just about everything with only a chance of happening has been removed from the game (dodge runes, old Phage, etc.).

The effects granted by those chances are also a little odd. A defensive spell that shreds armour and MR? Does she really need another stun?

I'd love to see Sona go back to what she was, a healer buffer. I'm tired of this Plus 60% of AP for damage thing. I'd rather see all that power loaded into "Grants (X*CDR+base) AD and AP to team" encourage her to build CDR and buff her team by using her passive to keep all 3 auras up at the same time. Keep Sona not damage
