[Champion Concept] Violetta, The Enchanting Steps
##Lore
Violetta is known across Valoran as the epitome of grace and beauty. Noble lords and humble townsfolk alike would gather from across the continent to Ionia so that they might witness her exquisite and enchanting dance performances. Her audience members were so often moved into dance themselves by her hypnotic motions and footwork that she had earned herself the title of “The Enchanting Steps.” Violetta’s dance was flawless, and it was an incredible wonder how she could so perfectly maintain her rhythm, despite the fact that she could not hear the drums or the music that accompanied her.
Violetta was born deaf to the master of one of Ionia’s many martial families. She was perfect in every other way, though she could not hear the spring birds’ songs, nor the sound of her mother’s voice, nor even the loudest clap of Ionian thunder during stormy nights. That, however, did not hinder her father’s dedication to her training as the successor of the family martial school. She memorized forms and stances, obediently practicing punches, kicks and blocks to become the best master of her family’s styles so that she might compensate for her auditory dishonour. But she could never quite attain true mastery. Her rhythm was broken, and she could not repair it by listening to the beats of the practice drums. Her father saw her grow increasingly frustrated despite his assurances that she had nothing to prove, so he took her into one of the larger towns as a nice vacation.
One night in town, as she leaned out of her room window pondering her failure as a martial artist, Violetta jerked up in sudden attention. She had sensed something, something of the like she could never have even imagined. The sensation came again, and this time she could follow where it came from. Just across the street beneath her was a modest adoption house. It came again, this time a steady repetition. It rang clear and true in Violetta’s ears. Violletta heard it. She could hear it. The single note continued to repeat, and though it must not have been coming from anyone more than a child like herself, but it was the single most beautiful thing she had ever experienced, more amazing than anything she had seen. It rang in perfect tempo, and Violetta found herself swaying steadily with the beat. She assumed her stance, and with the rhythm of the single note echoing from the adoption house, she began her form. Her punches bloomed into flourishes, her kicks softened into delicate flicks. Her family’s martial art became her dance, and long after the sound from out the window had stopped, she was still dancing, the sound of the note repeating in her head with perfect tempo.
Upon returning home, Violetta quickly hit the books, studying every skill of her family’s style and integrating all of it into her dance. When she sparred against her fellow disciples, they lost control of their feet as they moved magically toward her. Her ultimate technique could render entire mobs immobile, her movements instilling the will to dance into her opponents. And with every step, that single repeating note rang unchanged in her head. Finally, her aging father named her the grandmaster of her family’s school, and she left for the League of Legends so that she might showcase her dance and perhaps once again hear the song that gave her rhythm.
##Kit
Passive: The Beat of One’s Own Drum
Violetta has 15% increased tenacity (+0.2% per champion level). Whenever Violetta uses a spell on an enemy champion, she applies a stack of Distraction that reduces damage output to allied champions by 5% (+0.5% per champion level) for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. The duration is refreshed if the enemy champion is hit with additional spell damage from Violetta. The damage reduction does not, however, apply to damage directed at Violetta.

##Playstyle
Violetta is a mid-ranged support champion that specializes in crowd control and mobility. Unlike many other mage supports, her primary focus is to dance about her enemies and applying her skills, relying heavily on her teammates and precise ability utilization to survive. Unable to tank damage like support tanks such as Leona and Thresh, Violetta requires performance-perfect execution of her skills or else risks becoming a pointless sacrifice. Her utility-centred kit allows her to rhythmically round up and control her enemies with well executed Flurry Leaps and Enchanting Pliés, boasting incredible crowd control for team fight initiation with her ultimate. In lane and roaming, she can similarly peel off dangerous opponents from valuable allies, leading opponents away to save her team mates and prancing back to safety with Flurry Leaps.
Despite her astounding performance in teamfights, Violetta requires on-point play that is difficult and risky to display. Her weakness lies in her innate squishiness and the close range of her abilities. While she excels at peeling for her allies, she draws enemy focus quickly and becomes a target that must be taken care of as quickly as possible. A blunder in rhythm or a simple misstep can allow the enemy team to pin her down, meaning an early curtain call for Violetta.
This is a champion concept in progress that was inspired by a suggestion on Reddit of a dancer-based champion. Please let me know your opinions and criticisms in the comments! I'll update more on lore, playstyle and maybe even some illustrations if I find the time and people willing to help me. Also, if you have any suggestions for better names for spells and mana costs, that would really help me out.
