Why should Riot consider a LoL WorldCup?

When I talk about a Worldcup I don't refer to the current Worlds event. I mean something like the football worldcup, with the best national teams around the world. In the past days a tweet made by @ChillCastGG has become "famous" because he did some fantasy european teams for a possible Eurocup. And the discussion has returned, should Riot create a worldcup?

In my opinion the answer is yes. League of Legends, as eSport, is dying or, at least, it is not what it used to be some years ago. It's not something I'm making up to convince you, it's a fact. The amount of EU LCS viewers is the evidence, and also Rift Rivals or the past NA LCS week. League of Legends needs something new and a Worldcup could be this.

When could Riot host a Worldcup? If they want to keep their schedule as it is right now (which I personally dislike, tho this is just my opinion) they should host it during December, replacing the current useless AllStar event, which was a total disaster last year. 2017 All Star was a shit, Riot tried to bring up a competitive tournament from a 4fun event, a futile attempt. So, instead of doing this, why not a World Cup?

Why would it inscrease the number of viewers? People feel attracted by new things, that's a fact, but there're more reasons of course. Who doesn't feel like cheering his national team? Who doesn't want to see his country winning all the other countries? It could attract new viewers who have never watched eSports before, and It could even bring back those viewers who don't feel attracted by LoL anymore.

To sum up, I personally think it's a great choice for Riot to create something similar to a worldcup. What do you think? Should Riot consider this for 2019? I would like to read your opinion in the comments below!
