Here is a quote from Leaguecast 211: 14:05 - 14:10 "Everyone who's high elo gets reset to pretty well like the same point-ish, and then everyone who's super low elo gets bring up, brought up a little bit."

The expectation of starting every season from scratch is the common idea for any seasonal sport. That is not the way LoL works, but there is still a reset. The quoted speaker expected a changing of elos known as a reversion to mean. Most sports start every team equally by record, so the mean score is absolute. LoL uses a soft reset, which should meet the expectation stated in the quote. However, it appears that every established ranked account has gone down.

Hence this poll. Since the people in charge of the ranking system use an unexpected rationale that is perceived as harmful to the established majority, will you be sitting this season out? Also, if you will sit this season out, please identify whether you will do so out of protest or a lack of faith in the responsible people.

I will still llau ranks since I feel its the only way I can get serious and focused people on my squad.

In norms people just play for shits and giggles.

It's a soft MMR reset, so yes all high elos end up at about the same point as the highest you can get placed out of placements is plat 1, so typically everyone in mid to high diamond and above will place plat 1 out of placements.

This is where the speaker is incorrect, the soft reset always drops people lower than they were before. It did it last year for the same conditions, now this year it has too, which is what most people actually expected.

I am extremely frustrated this season, I played a ton during preseason and improved my play last season. all of my statistics have increased but my rank continues to drop. I refuse to just grind meaninglessly, being paired constantly with people, in high silver and low gold, winning repeatedly with good scores and being told your bronze 4 is bs. one person suggests its 100% based on the # of promo wins, well thats a shit assessment. why implement a system of character play rating that is meaningless? I scored and S in half of my plays! I've never been a bronze 4 and I'm not now. I've played since shortly after release but this placement literally makes me feel like everything I did preseason was completely meaningless. not that riot or the internet trolls give a shit but I'm done. I uninstalled today I'm not doing a ridiculous bronze climb again I dont have time to waste every day with leavers and smurf ass troll accounts, deuces.

I won't be playing due to the fact they think fiddlesticks is in a fine niche area. The same thing that was said for ashe for years. Fiddle is in a perfect area to get changed in the mage department. I won't be buying any more skins either. They made me salty. Fiddle has been nerfed so hard and others were buffed to the point he has fallen out of viability.
