Immortals Worlds Letdown

OK, so was thinking, and have a slight theory about Immortals having a total meltdown their final day.

Their second set of group games all were on the 12th of October. After a start that saw them weather a fed Rekkles for a solid comeback against FNC, a steady win over the wild GAM, and even showing a good match for the majority of their first game with Longzhu, Immortals crashed hard. None of their next four games really looked like they were clicking together or even showing any of their individual potential. At the time I largely chalked it up to NA failing in Worlds as usual. Not long thereafter the leak of their denied franchise overshadowed any analysis about their Worlds trip.

Fast forward to now with official news about franchises and such. Immortals has released a couple videos, one of which shows Noah talking with the team after being knocked out of Worlds, urging them to have fun with the players around them and enjoy what's left of the experience, because they don't know if they will be there together again.

Does anyone else wonder if perhaps the team or players found out about the denied entry to the LCS before their group games were done? I'm not trying to blame anyone with Riot, or excuse just plain bad play from IMT, but I wonder if perhaps this was part of their big breakdown.

I'm pretty sure the team knew by then that they were out of the LCS. I also think that it affected their performance negatively.

I don't think the LCS franchising applications were denied until after the group stage though.
