Anyone else hate seeing anything played in the pro scene?

Title. It's been said before, and I will say it again, once pros pick something, it is flavor of the week. Whether that be people picking someone up for the first time because pros made it look "OP" or people getting mad that you picked a champ you normally play because they think you're doing the former.

Example: I recently picked up Taliyah before Spring Split started, I have yet to play a game as her, but I found her interesting design-wise and really wanted to give it a shot. Now, I don't really want to because she's seen pro play, and am really tired of the "copying pros, GG" I've seen in other games.

I get that pro and non can't be separate because they are the same game. I don't want them to be, because it's interesting (sometimes) to see what people can do with the same tools, and the way I originally learned mechanically better play was watching how pros play. It's just that people need to understand that pro play is not the be all end all of the game. Don't play something just because a pro did, especially if you don't have any idea what you're doing. Sure, you can pick it up still, but you should because you like the champion, not because, "It might be OP and get me out of ELO Hell."

So you know what, writing this has made me decide to go for it. I'm going to go feed my ass off play Taliyah. Not in ranked though, because that would be dumb.

I like playing certain champions that I see the pro players play because it gives me a "meta" to what champions are pure garbage and those who aren't etc. I understand what you're trying to say tho and I agree for the most part.
The people who say "gg copying pros" etc I don't care nor do I really see much of that because I mute everyone enemy team and my team at the start of each game so I don't see what BS they have to say, now I just need to figure out ways to mute the pings.

I tried APC Ziggs in botlane because of it. It works. Not always. I've been playing it in normals when I get Bot Lane, so I can better understand when and why it's good when it works, and when and why it's not a good pick and what makes it fail. Did the same with Malz support, and a few other picks. Always do it in norms for abit though to get the basics figured out so I'm not clueless when it matters.

Only if I enjoy playing the champion.

When pros use them, nerfs and sheep are often soon to follow.

Yeah, when I do play (which is rare nowadays, as the game became too imbalanced for me to tolerate outside of small doses), I'd look at actual streamers as opposed to LCS. Certain streamers (goldenglue/quas being "good ones") tend to play the safe OP stuff that gets free wins, and often give tons of tips on how to use them properly. Not only does it allow people new to the characters to get a basic understanding of them, but you can also see a "demo" of their strengths/weaknesses before fully committing to them in your games.
