What's the deal with Urgot in the LCS?

So I keep hearing how incredebly strong Urgot supposedely is and he also gets banned out freqeuntly but when somebody actually plays him...

they fail so miserably it is both hilarious and painful to watch at the same time. It is like they never played him before and just do it because of some unwritten law that gives infinite style points to the one who has the best (worst) Urgot in a tournament-is-on-the-line match.

And everyone acts like it is completely normal to throw your tournament hopes away.

Collusion? 322?

What's the go here? I don't get it...

You just haven't seen the ones where he's wrecking people because they are caught out by his Ult, or normally would escape any other ADC but his seeker missiles go right past the front line. There are good games with him, I guess you've just seen the bad ones.

because he dumpsters zed

heavy ranged harass that cant be avoided
damage reduction on autos
free armor from ult and a shield
cant be dove without getting yourself suppressed for 1s then slowed by 40% for 3s right under the tower
zed cant ult first otherwise urgot will just ult and death mark will pop before zed can do much damage, and both ults have the same cooldown

Just cause he has alot of bans does not mean he is unstopable or unbeatable. It can mean that its a bitch to play around. Urgot litterally throws poke comps and out of wack. Very few champs META champs handle him well. When having a certain comp in mind, why allow the enemy have something extra hard to deal with.

That said some teams are baiting certain enemy comp picks by letting urgot be picked up and then punishing it with special designed counter comps. Though at this point urgot is niche and a pain to spend a lot of resources on.

Urgot is pretty strong, I mean not top tier but he's a good top champion and probably the best lane bully in top lane. Playing him as ADC just isn't his thing. Technically any champion in the game could play it but it doesn't mean they're strong at it.
