Something that makes me sad about the upcoming LCS split

ESPORTSLAW'S TAKE ON THE NRG CONTROVERSY AND PLAYER PROTECTIONS UNDER THE LCS RULES

Hi friends, I am a rare kind of League player. No, I'm not a Yorick or a Karthus main, I am a fan of the NA team Team Coast (CST). I have been ever since they made their first appearance in LCS, and I still proudly display my Coast icon that I purchased last year. Coast might not be as good as other teams in the LCS, but I feel like they belong there and they have given a lot of spotlight to good players like ZionSpartan, Shiptur and WizFujin (aka apollo). Last split wasn't great, but I was happy nevertheless that they managed to defend their LCS spot. Atleast, I was happy until I heard about what happened a few days ago. If you don't know yet, Coast's LCS spot has been purchased by a new team called NRG, which was formed by an investment group and looks forward to be a competitor to the best teams of NA. They have already set something with great deals, getting players like former world champion Impact and korean legend GBM (Ganked by mom) and many more. The only remaining player of the original CST setup was the support KonKwon. Usually, I wouldn't be sad about some more major competition, but I think it's very unfair for all of team Coast and their fans. Yes, they might have had a terrible split, and yes, they are by far not the best team, but they fought for their spot and deserved it. It's very sad to see all their work gone to waste, because now some new team that has money more than skill is just destroying all that. Not only is it sad for the players and fans, but it is also (partly) against the rules. There's a rule that says that if an LCS spot has been purchased by another team, that team has to play atleast the first few games with 3 or more players of the former team. NRG used a loophole (idk which to be honest) to evade this rule. In fact, the (former) management of Team Coast stated that they feel like being rused, because apparently NRG had promised them to keep their lineup.

TL;DR: Please don't let LCS become what football (soccer) is nowadays, where the guys with the most money have such an advantage. I'm okay with players being bought from other teams, but I don't think selling hard earned LCS spots is okay.

All the players contract ended, they just didn't renew their contracts ( except for konkwon ) and went and got new players instead.

The loophole is that all the players contract ended and they didn,t renew it ... which isn't a loophole, they aren't forced to keep players that have ended their contracts !
