I know EXACTLY how you feel right now

Man this game... If only...

Rip, gone but not forgotten. I remember watching that match, one of the greatest in the history of worlds, one of the few matches that got me excited to watch. With c9/kabum/alliance thing going down too that was the year to watch man way better than season 5, and so far season 6 except for mabye wildcards finally leaving groups is pretty cool

I still hope for the west (asides from H2K) that C9 will make it out of groups. With iMay getting that banned player and FW I think is beatable.

C9 was honestly the NA team I was most doubtful of getting out of groups. I think my hope tank is running on empty now.

SKT can bleed. EDG/RNG look shaky, and those were the "strong" LPL teams. Flash Wolves I seriously don't think are that good. C9 improved over the first week. I know they can do this. Just as much as I believed H2K and SSG were making out of groups, where many put them in 3rd place.

Flash wolves looked like the 2nd best team in the group. They had dominant play in all 3 of their games but fell short at the finish line in two. I'm just not solely convinced by C9 having a good game against the weakest team in the group even despite the improvement they showed. Now, I would say I hope they prove me wrong, but since I'm out of hope, they better damn well prove me wrong. If the teams I believed in failed, maybe the team I don't believe in will succeed.

I don't know about the LMS... everyone was saying AHQ would dominate their group, but failed to perform. They didn't even bother to sub Westdoor, which makes me think that's the best they could do and Wolves struggled to close out easy games. I don't think Flash Wolves will pull an H2K.

I always believed H2K and SSG would make it out of groups, where many had them as 3rd places. That's how I feel about C9. I've never been on the LMS hype train.

Only time will tell if I'm right or wrong.

Maszii1 votes

No AHQ was never considered very good because of Westdoor. FW are though, which sees trough in their 5-0 record vs Koreans. If it wasnt for their retarded closings they would have had 3-0.

Yordle Xayah1 votes

Told you FW wouldn't make it

Maszii1 votes

Jep, but they beat C9, like they should have done the first time ;). Plus they lost twice to iMay, bit unfortunate cus they look like a strong team.

Yordle Xayah1 votes

They failed to close out 2 secure wins against IM and C9. That is not a strong team in my eyes. At that, their second loss to IM was probably the most cheesy win I've seen at Worlds ever. What was it? The sub Mid laner playing Jungle or something? I've personally never understood LMS hype.

Maszii1 votes

Its a bit like RNG at MSI, failing to close those secure wins. Are they a bad team now aswell? At least they gave SKT a fight instead of Free9. Imo FW > C9, just because they couldnt close the games out doesnt mean they are bad.

Yordle Xayah1 votes

C9 moved on, FW didn't. Because they couldn't close an easy lead on C9 on Week One. They then proceeded to lose to a sub mid playing in the jungle.

Sorry but I beg to differ from your opinion.

Nik Nikerson1 votes

It kind of does mean that. You get judged on wins and losses. That's it, because that's all that matters. Looking good while losing doesn't earn you bonus points.

If you can't close the game out, you can't win; If you can't win, you aren't good.

I believed could've H2k if they played at their peak every game. It wasn't really their skill level that bothered me, the only lane that AHQ has that could match H2k's was top lane. I just thought H2k had inconsistencies which would lead to them losing out in the end. I didn't get to watch much of the Korean or Chinese scene this year, so deciding between SSG and RNG was the hardest part of my pickems. I think I sat there for almost half an hour deciding which one to put over the other. Ended up choosing wrongly in the end.

I did believe in C9, but after their first week, I lost faith. It's not just because of them though, it's because of how well flash wolves looked in their 3 games compared to how C9 looked in their 3. Despite them falling 1-2, they looked really good except for their late game. But you know, I've been wrong about just about everything this worlds, so maybe I'll be wrong again.

See? No prob ;) I was right about C9 and FW

Well I was right about them losing to FW. Fortunate for them that FW lost to Imay again.

Honestly 2 years in a row for LPL region now, they always look strong before worlds and they get stomped. Sure one team got through this year, but I still think RNG got a bit lucky.

Yordle Xayah1 votes

I've been thinking about that this week. If the LPL continues to "disappoint", can we call it that anymore? Or is it maybe that they are just living of the past times where Royal made it to finals. I personally feel both RNG and EDG will stay in quarters. Only time will tell, but that's how I feel.

Maszii1 votes

Well EDG will draw a Korean team so they probably will. RNG kan draw EU or Korean so also probably will (even vs H2K they have a chance to lose).

You believed in h2k? I didn't honestly but I loved the attitude and mental strength they showed this week, damn did they surprise Me, I was surprised tsm didn't make it out tbh as well but C9 I was hoping to see progress and believe they can

Really? They where my most hopeful, TSM I'm sorry but is always over rated and hyped, nowni love Reginald and what he's built in TSM is absolutely fantastic but I think bjerg needs to go or atleast needs a mid lane sub and I think Sven needs to go.

Biofrost and hauntzer are getting better every game, doublelift I love this guy and hate him at the same time his mechanics are second to none doesn't always translate though unfortunately.

I want to see bjerg removed or subbed out with someone more versatile I just think bjerg has one speed "stomp or get stomped" replace Sven with someone promising and aggressive like daddoch or reignover although dsddoch has already been picked up for spring split.

CLG - why would you have hope? They've looked torrid since msi where they where unveleibably good.

C9 - improved lots, adapt better than both teams and play macro games very well, as well as being fantastic best of 5s, I honestly think if they make it out of groups they will reach semis

CLG is my favorite team from NA, which is why I had a little hope. I knew they'd lose to ANX once, but I didn't expect them to lose twice. I thought the only team that would 2-0 them was Rox. I expected it to come to a tiebreaker between them and G2.

TSM actually looked good this year imo. I've been watching since 2014, and honestly every year TSM went into worlds, they didn't look good to me, even back in 2014 where they did manage to escape groups and were the first seed for na, they didn't look like the strongest team in NA. Even when they won IEM in 2015, they didn't look strong to me. This was actually the first time they were extremely dominant, no one could deny they were the most skilled team from NA. It didn't look like just them riding on the back of bjergsen like it did it previous years. They actually looked solid as a team for once. This was the first and only time I actually bought into the hype, because there was actually some substance behind it, but alas disappointment.

Cloud 9 had improvement in one game though. They got rolled over by SKT and Flash Wolves up until about the 60 minute mark. They did look really good against Imay, but that was the team most people expected to place 4th in the group.

Yxgl222HaX1 votes

its basically a 50/50 between flashwoves and c9 i think. That 70 minute game could have gone either way. But then again meteos WAS on lee and he is crap at lee and they still won somehow. So mabye if he gets zac or something id feel their chances are better for beating flash wolves. After all Fw did lose to meteos's lee which was meme inspiring in how bad it was and if they can lose to that, then zac or reksai would be more convincing

I don't remember if that was the last game FNC played, but they at least had a chance that game. TSM lost the minute UZI got a triple in the bot lane very early on.
