Any way to look at the stats on how many unique champs picked?

It is pretty diverse, but at the same time the power picks have remained power picks and are very common.

I don't have any stats though.

i know season 5 HAD ALOT of diverse champions. more then 80 different champions played

I tend to use Games of Legends to draw my stats from. If it's up to date, the main tournament so far has seen 72 champions in presence (picked or banned) in the main tournament.

Of the 72 Champions: Kalista, Bard, Sion, and Twisted Fate have been banned but not picked, reducing the number to 68.

Including Play-In, Olaf, Amumu, Aurelion Sol, Mundo, Fiora, Draven, Braum and Anivia (might be missing some) can be added to the list of presence champions, bringing the presence total to 80.
