Archon X1 votesIt's like a sports team. A lot of coaches were former players, but a lot of them weren't, they just have spent many years working up the ranks, maybe as a high school/college coach, then (for football) a linebacker coach, a defensive coordinator, etc, before moving up to head coach.
In league, I'd suggest if this was your interest try to get hired by a team as an analyst - probably on a volunteer basis if you have no prior experience.

It's neither. It's the team owner that finds both the players and the head coach. You can be both a owner and a head coach but believe me, you won't get far. You can be a owner and a player but not a owner and head coach.
Having said that, a head coach doesn't have to be an accomplished player.

Anyone with enough money or competence can be the manager of a team or create it, the multi-gaming organiaztions often have managers which are not pro/high elo players Of course, if you are an avergae silver II mr.nobody, why sponsor should choose you above all the other guys who are trying to create their own pro team? That's why usually former pro players, actually high caliber soloQ players or multi-gaming orgs are creating these pro teams, but nothing virtually prevent you to create a team...even though how do you think to attract sponsors if you have no credentials whatsoever?
purrrf3ction1 voteslike i mentioned..the main purpose i asked is connection vs exp because when you get ddosed its based on connections since anyone can ddos using googe instructions/programs but connection saves keeps you protected so to be a coach which is preferred? i personally think exp is worth more than connections but people have different views well the thing is...i know for a fact in asia there are people who cant afford to live in an apt so they put all the money they have into going to internet cafes...so if i were to choose somone who has money vs somene who sleeps in an internet cafe... of course i will choose the internet cafe dude cause he probably did way more work than somene who has money so since i am asian, i would love to sponsor somone who desnt have any money versus someone who does
well like i kept asking... to me if someone hypothectically created a team based on their connectin in the tech industry vs somene who ddosed and threatened people...i would think the person who has connections would make it further in this game since no one wants to get ddosed... but the more i play this game the more i think ddosing is the way this game plays? thats why i was curious because it doesnt seem like people care much about who is handing out the money...they just want it by any means and to me personally...i would want to work in the fraud dept since that is what will keep my friends safe when playing this game from toxic players
i know personally hafu has helped bring in a lot of female players so i was going to do something similar to her but at this point i feel like i should just work for league to insure the safety of customers so they can hire more people so league can fund more teams/coaches

i am just rather curious the feedback i would get if i started a team who either ddos or doesnt and wonder why certain people get death threats sent/harassed/verbally abused/swatted because if i started a team i would want to make sure no one ever ddos/swats/send death threats at my team for winning.

FooDang1 votesA coach is someone who understands the mechanics of the game at all levels micro/macro and champion kits and team synergy. A coach is also someone that knows the teams strengths and weaknesses and helps formulate game plans/strategies.
pretty much each member of the team has thier own slice of a 5 piece pie and the Coach is the baker that makes the pie as delicious as possible...mmmm pie...
To answer the question...no the coach doesnt have to be a former pro or high elo. Thats why they are coaches...the players are the ones with talent...coaches are the ones that mold that talent. Monte Cristo was gold 5 (dont quote me on that) but he's an amazing analyst. Let me ask you this question...how many NFL coaches are former pro players?

which is different for many league players since they are doing it for money currently since league and many games did not have the current funding previously and ddosing/swatting didnt happen as much when there was no money in these games according to the news
