Players wont be as concerned about pocket picks as they are tools, also this allow people in solo queue to master more than one character on the patch. right now the game develops so fast you're left so little time to enjoy it. and players have to hide what they picking, not holding onto a huge tool for the Grand Finals of worlds!

I personally like updates, keeps the game fresh imo. They're constantly adding/changing things in the game, so they need more patches to fix/balance things.

With longer patch cycles, they would need to have harder hitting patches. Like with that whole lethality situation, I feel like the champions are in a good spot, not weak and not too strong for the most part.
