I thought LCS got rid of "Academies"?

Back when TSM Dark or whatever it was, was a thing... They were forced to change organizations to maintain honesty in the League. But now there's a Fnatic Academy?

Did it get repealed or did something change? I stopped watching for a year or so, so it's possible.

CS is allowed, FlyQuest was C9 Challenger but once they get into the LCS I believe they're required to sell their spot. I think

TL;DR - 'Academies' are allowed in the Challenger Series, but if they make it into LCS they have to sell the team. Ttherwise a dominant organisation could eventually own most of the teams and that would potentially compromise the competitive integrity of the LCS.

They can't put their academy into lcs proper. Now the big guys are putting teams into lcs for a profit a la flyquest

If a team is in Challenger, the team is allowed to co-exist with the main team. HOWEVER, as of this split in NA and next split in EU, those teams will not be able to go to the Promotion Tournament, won't be able to get into LCS, and won't be able to have their slot sold for money.
