What does everyone think will happen when TSM plays WE. WE wasn't supposed to win at all in IEM and yet they are in the finals. TSM everyone knew was strong but, no one knew how strong the NA scene was compared to the rest of the world.

When Barcelona or RM wins an international cup we say that Spain won the cup, no wherever the players were born.

Orangesilk6 votesActually, when a Real/Barcelona win a cup, no one claims Spain won anything, that was just Barcelona/Real, as an international club, that's it.
However, in the world cup, the national teams, like say, Spain, are composed exclusively of Spanish people, and when those teams win the world cup, we do indeed claim "Spain won the world cup".
Riot has a funny system where, in the world cup, you don't have to be from the country you're representing, and that's why this kind of stuff happens.
planters1 votesThis is true...BUT you should probably mention the part where immigrants are part of the roster of many of these teams. It is not uncommon for a guy who is really good to come from say Ghana and play for England or Spain. Doesn't always happen but it has at times.
Orangesilk1 votesFor you to be able to play in a national team at the world cup, you must be a citizen of that country, if you as a player are given the nationality, there's no reason for you not to be considered a citizen of the country, even if you weren't born there.

This is not to dismiss that they are part of the nation now just to highlight that sometimes its just opportunities that create these situations. On the topic of soccer immigrants play for their new nation. On the topic of LOL people play for the server they most frequent. Not the nation they were born or possibly even raised.

a lot of people in EU do not realize that the USA is a pretty new country and has a lot of people that move here
Circuit Bear4 votesI am sure I am going to get downvoted hard for this. But after watching both sets. I have to say I am kinda worried about TSM. WE has proven to adapt well and have fiarly solid lanes.
On top of that? TSM took forever to close out games, came out fairly indecisive on making plays to close it out, and WE closed the games fast and hard. Kinda makes me worry that could bite us.
My guess is that if Bierg can get rolling and get them to midgame, then Wild turtle will pick up and start pushing them in for late game. But if Beirgson doesn't, I am kinda betting WE will roll over TSM.
I am glad NA is winning but those wins felt very scared or unoptimized. I have to imagine there are faster ways to close a lead as large as they had. But if you are trying to minimize risk I suppose it works.
TheBigKat4 votesYeah Bjerg is going to have to get going in order for TSM to win. There is always the off chance that WildTurtle gets rolling and can carry the game but TSM is such a mid heavy team that, if Bjerg doesn't get going then they probably won't be able to do anything.

GoodOlAlex1 votesTSM taking a while to close out games wasn't due to a lack of good decision making or the fact that they were struggling in any way, the two caster pointed this out. They were slow to close out games because they were trying to do so SAFELY, and without any sort of siege champions. Lucian, Zed, Lulu, Lee Sin, and Annie is not a siege heavy comp whatsoever, given that two of these champions are melee and Annie is the only one with a long enough range to break turrets from a safe distance. If you notice, TSM wasn't faltering while closing out their games, they always had a clear objective in mind. They would usually get a few kills, then head straight towards the baron or dragon area, secure the vision, then take the objective. Their two wins were both relatively controllled, only being slow due to the comps they chose.

TSM didn't have comps that could close games fast. The reason TSM used these comps is to counter what the Flash Wolves were using(Fight Fire with Fire the TSM way). Which if nothing else shows A high amount of versatility in TSM already.
Also that TSM dominated the wins vs the Flash Wolves much more then the wolves did vs them.
Damorion2153 votesHonestly, this BO3 felt fake to me. Like, Riot told GET backstage, "Okay, so you're gonna win the first one, then lose the next two." It seems like in this match-up and in several other matches over the course of recent seasons have been manipulated in such a way for Riot to create their own "E-sports Storyline" or something. There have been games where teams that were expected to win made mistakes that were just waaay too easy to make. I'm probably overreacting here and thus, this really isn't the case and GET did get a bit too cocky or w/e and threw those 2 games away to TWE. Although, I wouldn't be surprised too much if this was the case, considering all the controversy surrounding Riot about how they deal with the community and such.

I guess I'm just cynical, really, with certain types of people and such situations where there's someone telling you to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain". I'm certain to a point that most of the games are real and that the players do try their best to win.

Anything could be the cause of their play. I would expect their support staff to hammer that out before Worlds/MSI

Mengetsu3 votesIt also should be noted that until the series with GE Tigers, Team WE didn't look like a team that deserved to be out of group stage imo. Coming out of the game with GET not only do WE have momentum, but their surge, their improvement may very well catch TSM off guard. I highly doubt it'll be a 3/0 I hope it's a 3/2 for a good series(Two in favor of TSM since I am cheering for TSM), depending on the games seen in katowice I'll say 3/1 in favor of TSM though, considering they've looked more consistent.
Mengetsu1 votesThey are only the worst team in China based on rank, you have to account for that, they looked out of sorts in LPL however in Katowice they've looked shaky and then fantastic. If you we're to compare that Team WE to the one that dropped so many games in LPL, surely you can say they would be a top three LPL team if they were preforming at this level since the beginning of the season.
