Welcome, summoners!

I couldn' t write properly the title sentence due to the limit of letters allowed, but the message is clear, and it exactly defines the EU vs NA/ NA vs EU situation right now. These two regions have been fighting since League exists, but the League of Legends game between a european team and an american team represents the 1% of this fight. EU fans and NA fans have also been fighting through Twitch chats, YouTube comments, fórums., since League of Legends e-sports has a huge community. I think Riot had a really good idea creating this event because, as the title sentence said, both regions have fighted (worlds, all star, MSI, IEM..) but those were Little batlles. In this tournament there is no Korea, there is no China, there is not wildcard teams to beat before playing with the rest of the regions, this tournament is only Europe and North America, the last big battle.

I actually have a lot of hype to see who will beat who. Will TSM fail to NA again, and show once more that they are useless internationally? Will Fnatic not drop any game, or in the other hand, will it get smashed by everone? Will P1 show a good perfomance against all odds? Will G2 have a 2016 MSI or a 2017 MSI? Will C9 show the world again that they are only hope for NA? Will UOL perform incredibly well and close a few mouths?

Obviously, as this is written in the NA fórums, it will get full of american fans trashtalking about EUW, but would you like to know what do your enemies think about Rift Rivals? Check this same post in the EUW forums! : https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/esports-en/TAXpRqsT-eu-vs-na-rift-rivals-2017-no-matter-how-many-battles-have-been-fought-only-the-last-decide-a-war

Rambling below I always viewed the EU-NA rivalry similar to say the topic of who's better Peyton or Eli more so before Peyton won his second superbowl ring with the Broncos. At the time Peyton only had 1 ring and Eli 2, Eli beat Peyton's nemesis Brady 3-4 times while only losing to Brady I think once in the 07 season, but whenever it came down to the more important games whenever it means the most Eli showed up and did what Peyton couldn't.
Most people think( I'm one) that Peyton is better than Eli even without that second superbowl ring, memes online with Eli telling Peyton " Let me know if that Brady kid gives you trouble" etc, Peyton has the "star wars" numbers in the regular season but whenever it comes down to perform when it most counts he tends to fumble, while his younger brother tends to rise to the challenge for the most part whenever he does get a chance to go far in the Playoffs.

Conclusion That's the NA/EU in a nutshell in which Jatt said it perfectly " NA wins the meaningless games, while EU wins the meaningful games" Within the last couple of years we've seen parts of that become reality. 2013 Worlds Fnatic beat Cloud 9 2-1 but in the Battle of the Atlantic Cloud 9 beat Fnatic ( The first meeting was Worlds, while the second meeting was just a thrown together tournament resulting in no real beneficial result) 2016 CLG beat G2 2-0 in the Group stage but similar to G2; CLG went home after Groups not advancing to the Quarters because they couldn't win the meaningful games at that point after beating G2. Same thing with TSM beating Splyce 2-0 but still didn't advance out of groups because yet again they themselves couldn't win the more important games.

My thoughts on RR/prediction I think for the most part either NA or EU will win most of the games in the group stage, while in the Finals the region that lost the most during Groups will win the Finals in which we as viewers will still have that " Who's better" question, the region that won more game series or the region that won the whole tournament in the Finals ?
