Playoffs Saturday is Upon Us
One of the best (or worst) weekends of the year for diehard LoL eSports fans is just a few hours away and if you haven't noticed: there's gonna be a lot of teams punching their tickets to MSI by the end of Sunday. For all the fans out there looking to run the marathon that is called Saturday, here are all the juicy matches that will be coming up:
#LCK Final | Griffin vs SK Telecom T1 One of the two dream matches reaching the top of the league as it should have been. Unfortunately one of those teams decided to suck last year so here we are now when that team is back in form and looking dangerous. A hard one to really predict when it comes to it. Are Griffin the real deal? Are SKT THE true threat again? Either way it's looking like it'll take a meltdown or yet another Midseason blow up to take these two teams out of the Worlds picture. It's not like this story will end here at all.
#LPL Semifinals | Topsports Gaming vs Invictus Gaming & FunPlus Phoenix vs JD Gaming While it may not be one of the MSI punches, this is one of the spiciest playoff pictures going right now. Of the 4 teams left, there's a legitimate case that any of them could come out on top with the title. And before anyone thinks playoff buffs: this didn't help the old guard as WE, RNG, and EDG are all...out. 3 of these teams sat at the top of the standings with hurdles and hiccups of their own. The fourth gravitated around the middle of the pack and became Caps' very unusual wet dream of victory. But hey: underdog stories! All and all, we're looking at a new champion in the horizon believe it or not. Get your kagdar or multitwitch ready!
#LEC Finals Weekend | Origen vs Fnatic | Winner faces G2 Esports The three biggest names are back at the top to make you sit down, stare blankly into the distance, and speak in a slow, emotionless, mindless, monotonous tone, "Kings.....Legacy.....Dynasty....Rekkles....Champions...."
I'm...going to stop now...Anyway these matches are nothing new to see here but exciting nonetheless. Two of the three teams have a genuine chance at being the hot EU representative at MSI. But I'm not going to write Origen out just yet...maybe after Game 1.
#LCS Finals | Team Liquid vs TSM The other dream match that should have happened last year and unfortunately like Griffin and SKT, one of them sucked and had to rebound. And here we are. This match as A LOT of storied volume; holds for the most titles, first time champion, first time NA and EU champion, and then some. Where the story goes off rails in equivalent match hype to that of LCK...is the ever aware international performance history. But we won't know until we get there.
#LMS Semifinals | AHQ eSports Club vs Flash Wolves Previous years I'd be more invested into the LMS. This year was not. But I for one did not expect AHQ to be at this point. Of course this is still a semifinals; winner goes on to face MAD Team for the title. Should this slip past, no problem. But I will definitely give it an effort to see this one myself.
But wait! If that's not enough for you (it should be enough for the above average fan) there's still all the emerging regions also in their final phases of the splits. I'll gladly quickfire these:

#And finally, LLA Finals | Rainbow 7 vs Isurus Gaming The regions merge but we still find ourselves in a LAN vs LAS bout....next week. Way to be content with LPL and LMS.
