Was FORG1VEN the key to Schalke 04's first win? (READ FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION)

After FORG1VEN left Schalke, low and behold, they get their first win of the split! FORG1VEN flamed the team for "not trying to win," but this recent victory over G2 (who have been looking a little out of sorts the last 2 weeks despite being 6-2) has me wondering if FORG1VEN is just simply not good for competitive LoL on the highest level. When OG was relegated, he also left that team after a tumultuous start, and only came back once Peke got a roster back to the main stage and made him no longer the leading man.

Having never met the guy, I obviously am just guessing, but FORG1VEN strikes me as a player who is so toxic that when his teams aren't winning, they are nosediving because of his hatred of losing and history of blaming teammates and coaching. It's honestly kind of pssy sht and I was mad excited to see FORG1VEN back, but now it's like... bro don't ever come back, you're bad for the game.

So here are the question that popped into my head: "Was FORG1VEN leaving the key to Schalke winning? Was he the piece preventing them from success, either on the rift or in the locker room? How good does this make this team now?"

obviously a team like g2 that has fun and has a good synergie between their players always has the advantage over one where one team player might get tilted or even flame his own teammates. theres the same heat around rekkles all the time.

from the view challengers i know i heard that forgiven is also very toxic in soloq (and they always question how he isnt permabanned) so who knows.

g2 had a weird week and i dont expect schalke to end the split with 10 wins or so now, but im pretty sure the team is more relaxed now

When a team is losing they don't need to be told on a regular basis or flamed about losing, they know.
Yes, why G2 isn't the G2 from old they still are G2 and even if SO4 got a win against any other team for that matter, it's still a W at the end of the day.

Even if you remove the 'cancer' from someone(Forgiven) they still might die at the end of the day(SO4). Forgiven has always been a toxic douche bag. The only reason he was on SO4 was because of connections with Monte/Thoorin because he's their butt buddy. Thoorin literally got pissed because Golden Guardians didn't want Forgiven on their team last year.

Overall, the dude is a toxic ape and the LEC/LCS is better without him. I too was excited to hear about Forgiven only because of name value and name value alone! His attitude hasn't changed and honestly, there are better younger and more driven players in the LEC/LCS at the moment than Forgiven.

Another problem here soon is Upset more than likely being another Forgiven.

Forgiven was talking a lot of shit, and was very vocal about just how bad he thought his team was. The thing is, he himself was playing really poorly. His mechanics are good, but just take a look at how he played around jungle pressure - the Fnatic game is the perfect example. He repeatedly died to ganks, even though schalke always knew exactly where the enemy jungler was, because he hardgreeded for cs. Contrast that to an actual good player like Nemesis (in the same game) who was in the exact same situation but never died. Forgiven was nothing special. Decent player, nothing more. And from the way he acted in public (just read his twitter statements, the posts he retweeted....) ywe can at least guess on the impact this guy had on team atmosphere internally.

From my point of view, he was a below-average player with a poisonous impact on team morale. Can't really get much worse imo. We will see how Schalke does from now on, we have 6? (or were it 7 ) games with forgiven taht we contrast now to the games with innaxe. My guess is that they will actually start improving now and become a competitive team in the next few weaks.

from the view challengers i know i heard that forgiven is also very toxic in soloq (and they always question how he isnt permabanned) so who knows.

I've seen him on streams of other challenger players. Extremly negative attitude in soloq, very prone to give up. The guy that spams surrender votes and tries to conbince everyone in chat that the game is lost.

Here, an example (jump to about 2:20 and see his chat from there...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba8Xh1IAyEk

Edit2: I just found a nice little statement from Schalke on Reddit.

Gilius wasn't toxic whatsoever, took the swap like a champ and has been working hard both with the Academy and main team since. I've seen this being spread over twitter for weeks now, and it's really grinding my gears. While criticising a player's play is part of the industry, spreading lies about his behaviour is absolutely not it.

Nr. 2

This comment is solely about Gilius.

I mean... make your own judgement based on that xD. While they of course dont officially hate on forgiven, i think the subtext in these comments is as visible as the sun in the sky.
