Honestly looking forward to the upcoming LCK split

And it's not only because of the hype around the talent forming in SKT and KT and the inevitable revitalization of the ultimate Telecom War. When you look just a bit past that hype, you see a good half of the other teams going through a rebuilding phase of their own. It's almost shocking to see the amount of changes in such a short time. I'm envious as to what the next month is going to bring because the predictions of who's going to share the top 3 with the expected Telecoms are going to be abundant.

As someone who has paid attention to almost all of the "news" surrounding the offseason, I can definitely say that this has been thoroughly entertaining. I'll just list off the stuff based on region:

NA -IMT tells players they can field offers from other teams, Adrian signs immediately with P1 (with allegations that Echofux tried to poach him afterwards, more on that later) and Reignover signs with TL to fill the spot left by dardoch (again, more on this later) -Dignitas/Apex bought by Philadelphia 76'ers/rebranding back under the original dignitas banner, many people suspect that they're potentially going to field a super-team with names such as Huni/Gorilla being potential imports -Echofox nabs dardoch off TL, but outside of the rito-approved window (meaning that they're probably not going to be allowed to use him in 2017) -Rito "apparently" gives Echofox a lenient/non-existent punishment for trying to poach adrian/potential other players, teams are suggesting that they're going to refuse to scrim with them during 2017 as their own form of punishment

EU -Fnatic 2017 roster revealed, featuring Soaz/Amazing/Caps/Rekkles/Jesiz -Paris St Germain (team who bought huma's eucs spot) reveal signings of blanc and Pilot, two former members of JAG -H2k potentially signing Febiven to replace Ryu -Former Roccat support Raise leaves team, joins JAG

LCK -Longzhu/CJEntus/Afreeca Freecs/KT release their rosters, with notable UFA's including Emporer (the TDK adc we all love), Madlife (:O), Lust (aka lustboy, former TSM support), and Mickey (the guy who made CJE games watchable) -Rox allow their players to explore other options (similar to what IMT did, because we're not allowed to have multiple good teams), Smeb joins KT and Peanut joins SKT -KT Rolster also resigns score and adds smeb/pawn

Not including LPL because I find that region rather boring, think I got "most" of the important stuff though.

There's been very little news in the LPL so far. Just a few rumors along with an amount of Koreans leaving. It's harder to gather information for it unless you're truly dedicated to the scene; same to LMS (both which I'm . Also I thank you for listing out the info so far regarding the "news of November." Here's to another month of chaos in another region.

I will make one correction: Mickey was on Afreeca Freecs. And he was watchable. Reminded me of Shiphtur: either does great or terrible. You never know which you'll get.

WUT? Mickey is the exact opposite of Shiptur Shiptur has always ranged between mediocre to average compared to NA LCS mid lane level, you could almost never expect him to singlehandily win or lose a game for his team

Yeah, I have to heavily disagree on the Shiphtur comparison with him. Shiphtur is and has always been a guy who whenever he makes remotely good plays (ones that don't involve him dying) he always loses a ton of cs in the process, hence why people like fenix/bjerg would often flame horizon super early (I'm pretty sure one of the two actually has the fastest mid-lane fh with something ridiculous like 23-25mins). While mickey doesn't always have the best games, when he is on point he not only makes ridiculous outplays but also gathers pretty big cs leads over opponents while doing so, usually through him and the jg hard-pushing the wave before they both roam mid.

I guess I mark that comparison to the way they performed as the factor of how they win or lose their games. Just either doing great or terrible. On a degree, Shiphtur is far from entertaining compared to Mickey. Mickey flat out just makes plays on a whim from time to time. Shiphtur tended to work with the team whenever they could actually play. I'll reword it to prime Shiphtur but I'll kind of hold my comparison.

On a degree, you are completely off with your judgement, LOL How Shiptur play was RARELY the factor why his team won or lose, because he was always generally middle of the pack in NA LCS even on his prime First were better scarra regi Link Hai, then Bjerg, Pob, XWX, then the foreign invasion that pushed him out in the end

If anything, it must be credited to him that he stepped up to an ever increasing competition till the end of S5, while others that were once good have dropped or retired and a lot of rookies totally failed and were worse than him (in mid and in other roles), and what allowed him to survive and somewhat perform at decent level for so long was his consistency. He has never been really good mechanically in lane neither went for flashy plays, but he has always been a very good teamfighter and kinda samrt compared to his teammates.

P.S. I don't understand why he didn't go for a role swap like a good number of other players did, I think he would still be easily in LCS if he swapped to a role like top or support

Now you're taking my own opinion and blowing it up. I make one comparison and back up with a reason as to why and there's no need to point out A, B, C, and so on were better. That was not my point! My point was that he was either on his game or off, just like Mickey. That's it. Nothing more or less. If my own opinion is that judgmental, then I'm sorry it offends you.

Offended? Nope, where did I seem it?

I just think your opinion is wrong. Shiptur never seemd an inconsistent guy to me. I think he has always performed consistently at around below average to average level for almost the entire NA LCS career that he had compared to the players he faced (which level improved thoruoghout the seasons, to Shiptur credit), and that he rarely had big ups or downs in performances Even in the last split with Dignitas, where he was clearly not on the level of the other midlaners, was somewhat consistent on the same level and didn't really represented a liability nor the worst performer in the team, but he didn't even had the few far and inbetween flashiest moments on the team

The opposite of a feast or famine player like you are describing Mickey, no?

I worry with rox collapsing and essentially skt/kt picking up super teams that the general level of competition will go down as a result. SKT/KT matches being amazing aren't worth the two teams stomping every other match.

That's what I thought too. And then I thought of what weaknesses could happen. Also SKT Peanut got confirmed as I made this post. Being a fan of a team is pretty easy at times. But being a fan of the region's competition: for Korea that just got a bit hard. Hopefully the first few weeks won't be as lopsided or that the hype fails to deliver as clearly as it seems.

LCK next split will be rather bad, tbh Not quality wise, of course, but because the "rebuilding" a lot of teams are going to do is a mere recycling of pros that have been in mid-bottom tier LCK or earning fat China stacks, so you'll get an even bigger gap between the very top and the rest of the league, unlike what happened in last LCK Summer where there was a true battle behind Rox until halfway through the split, when in the end the usual orgs took over and proceded to guarantee the top 4 place for theirselves
