can someone explain why 2016 lcl spring split will be played in patch 5.9?(according to leaguepedia)

Sorry if I Sound idiotic or retarded or late af or if the question has been asked before but usually wouldn't it be the patch of the new season? I really wanted to see the professional teams play with the changes (that's assuming riot won't make too many changes again in s6)

The Summer 2015 split started on patch 5.9, they just haven't updated it yet. http://lol.gamepedia.com/2015_NA_LCS_Summer/Regular_Season
